Louis Betts | Portrait of Suzanne Isreal | c. 1929 ・・・ The robe de style is probably the most polarizing silhouette in fashion history. Those with an interest in the history of couture either love or loathe the drop waisted, panniered homage to the 18th century. This has to be the most superb depiction of a robe de style I have ever seen. Louis Betts perfectly captured the youth and beauty of the eighteen year old Suzanne Isreal in this portrait.
