Louis XIV (14th) lived in the Domaine de Marly, outside Versailles, with his new (hidden) wife and children until he died.
Versailles was just a place to « be seen », and this small palace ( which doesn’t exist anymore, as it’s been destroyed by an entrepreneur who bought it and got bankrupt … he sold the castle brick by brick in the 19th century) was the family palace of Louis the 14th. Napoleon came there too, but he preferred the big V😁
