a reminder to be nice

Hi, just wanted to check in with you guys as it’s been a while. I’ve seen some abnormally petty things this past week. As much as I love our fandom to death, I’ve seen the bullying tendencies come out again in that fans are going over to Tess Wards page and leaving bad reviews on a book they haven’t even purchased. Not cool at all and I honestly expect more from this amazing fandom filled with such caring and passionate people. It’s really important we acknowledge these problems and that we don’t add fuel to them.

When a girl signs up to be a beard, I’m pretty sure they know by now what they’re in for. Our fandom is notorious for bullying the narrative ladies on social media, and at least from the tumblr side, I hope we are all discouraging that kind of behaviour, and speaking up to anyone who is displaying this bullying as a joke on their blog or on twitter or facebook or otherwise. It’s not a nice thing, nor is it the greatest thing to stand by and watch it happen and do nothing about it. Imagine this was at school or work and you were being bullied and nobody said anything to defend you. At some point we’ve got to make the decision to do our part in stopping the bullying, even a little contribution by many will go a long way in changing a bully’s mind.

Also the bullying in our fandom thing is probably a big reason why 1D are scared to go public with their actually real relationships. Imagine it’s someone you really cared about and loved, but to go public would mean harassment to that person, their social medias and even their family and friend’s social medias. This is the more shameful part of the fandom. So let us try encourage others to be nice. If you are about to do something mean, consider simply ignoring and moving on, rather than being a part of the problem yourself.

And thank you to everyone who takes a video or picture and posts it online for everyone. Our fandom has always been the realest MVPs with that sort of thing. I don’t know any other fandom with such drive/thirst for content and producing content for everyone else. Every other fandom must think we’re absolute bonkers.

How you can support The-Lourries Movement

1. You can send us an ask off anon saying you would like to be included in our pro!Freddie blogroll - this will be our recommendation list of Larry safe blogs so we can all get connected to each other. If you ship Larry in any shape or form be that irl or fiction or you aren’t against people believing in Larry as a couple, and also think Freddie is Louis’ son, and are respectful with your beliefs, then you are a Larry safe blog.

2. You can send me an ask off anon requesting to join as a member of the group for the purpose of spreading the word from within this group blog - that people who ship and love and believe in Larry who also love Louis as a father and his son Freddie can and do exist!!! We need to show others that if we can do it, they can do it too and they will be much happier in a safer space free from the corruption.

3. Follow our blog and reblog posts you like! Reblog this post for calling our supporters to arms. Lend us your support to get the word out there! Fight hard for our fandom’s ability to become a happy and united place again!  ♡ “We Are 1D Family”

4. Message your friends or other fellow Larries, even if it’s from the safety of anon, let them know about this movement. Let them know they aren’t alone and that they can not only become a respectful Larrie again, but also help to change the part of the fandom not living up to our most important ideals: love, respect, and kindness towards others. Always be nice! Keep the peace! Don’t rise to bait. Message blogs being hateful that you don’t like it. Don’t fear rejection. Always know that promoting positivity of your OTP is never ever something to feel ashamed for. I have faith that most Larries have the potential of coming back to what’s important, in good time. Be strong and be brave, everyone. . 

Remember, we are here to let you know that you aren’t alone. You can chat to myself or the-lourries blog about anything you like. You and your feelings will be protected. We are not about exposing people or making blog receipts. This new Larrie movement is about a desire for returning to our roots in supporting and caring for one another and the boys we love so dearly. Our ultimate goal for the movement is the Larrie fandom-wide rejection of disrespectful anti-Louis or anti-Harry posts that run rampant within it. No matter what anyone says, Louis and Harry never deserve negative or hate speech written about them. It must stop because acting this way is so far from the pure place we were once coming from in our trusting, loving and supporting of Harry and Louis without these self entitled conditions of love. Please, help return us to what we used to be.♡  Lastly, we will not back down until all of the unfair and hate-filled rhetoric about Louis not being worthy of respect or support stops and Larries become a safe space for all to be a part of again. How can you call yourself a Larrie or Louie and say that you love him, all while permitting such negative views about him to exist? Toxic behaviour must be put away with once and for all. For our entire fandom’s happiness and mental well-being, for 1D’s sake and, most importantly of all, for Louis’ sake. He deserves so much better than this. Love, Respect & Kindness for all. If you can’t create the change, be the change.

Larrie vs Negativity

Our entire fandom is probably a mixed bag of opinions, for obvious reasons. So the most important thing to the healthy sustainability of our fandom is tolerance of people with different opinions and beliefs to your own, and positivity for Louis and Harry by trying to stick to posts that for the majority, make people happy, or if it’s sad - at least sad about the right things. The problem in the Larrie fandom is getting upset, angry, depressed and exhausted about things we shouldn't have to feel those negative emotions about. The only way to truly know if it's something sad, is if it's something the boys are visibly sad about themselves. All the rest of the fandom-made sadness is speculation and fiction - things that we should actively be trying to maintain an emotional neutrality with. And yet we don't and so as a result we have many mood problems from the content people are putting out and a widespread suffering from things outside our control. We need to become aware of the problems, and we need to change for the sake of the fandom’s survival before we self-destruct from all this fandom-made stress.

So how do you defeat negativity within yourself? Sometimes all it is, is a matter of changing perspective. If you are just too exhausted of being angry and depressed all the time because of the way you feel about things, then just change the very way you feel about things. Emotions, and feelings in general can be extremely difficult to manage and deal with, but if you push yourself to work these feelings out in your head, you will become much lighter, and I believe happier, afterwards.

As always, please don’t give your notes to negativity. Try to be a positive blog that helps lift the fandom mood up and most importantly, love each other and love your Larents. :)

Let your heart capture love, not hate. It is easy to leave people you don't like alone. It is easy for you to not be a bully on the internet. This goes out to you, my most beloved 1D family. Please don't send anyone involved with Louis' son hate. That kind of thing hurts Louis because this is his son we're talking about here, and Freddie's primary caretakers. Thank you for listening and I hope you can embrace positivity into your heart again. If you can’t do it for yourself, do it for Louis who is also trying his best. daily reminder for the Larrie fandom to respect Louis

Louis has been talking about his son for well over a year now and it’s clear that he loves his son so much and does his best for him...

If you can’t accept Freddie, then at least accept the possibility and respect ½ of your ship, Louis William Tomlinson. That means saying No! to reblogging anti-dad!Louis and anti-Freddie posts. If what people are saying hurts you, tell them on anon! If they just ignore you or brush you off, click unfollow! Show these people that nasty behaviour towards the ones you love will not be rewarded. This is the only way they will learn to stop. If you want the fandom to become a safe place again, you have to make a stand through subtle discouragement to push back against the Louis negativity on your dash.

Don’t sit by and let him be disrespected like this. If you really love him, then stand up for him. It doesn’t make you a bad Larrie, it makes you a true Larrie.

You can see from his tweet Louis loves his son so much. What a wonderful thing that is. What a beautiful and healthy relationship they must have. I feel so blessed that he shares how he feels about his son so the whole world can see it and that we can freak out about it because it’s so damn adorable!
