My Ex-Larrie Story
i was inspired to write this by the latest video of @shit-larries-say so thank you. The story is in many ways different to mine but it is also very similiar and it resonates on a deeply personal level. I’m really recent ex-larrie as in March this year. I first became a One Direction fan in 2010 after watching the seventh series of the X Factor I loved the boys straight away and Lirry were my favourites. I went on X Factor Tour, I put posters up on my wall etc. However I didn’t become a larrie straight away, in fact I didn’t become a larrie until july 2013. Before then I shipped Elounor and Payzer etc. However I was a larry shipper and I very much enjoyed fanfiction. The first fic I ever read was 99 Days Without You in November 2012. I became a larrie after I became curious about why they believed in larry so hard and why larry seemed distant. After hearing about ‘’Lou can I give you a blowjob?”, all the other innuendo, the You Just Have to Pay Attention Videos and tattoos, I was completely sold on larry and was shocked it wasn’t common knowledge. It seemed so obvious all the hearteyes, little touches, innuendo, tattoos, jealousy, outings, white paint in hair after halloween, jizz jeans etc etc. However as a larrie I awlays did have lots of doubts and Elounor always confused sometimes it seemed so legit and sometimes fake as fuck. I read a post about elounor in late 2013 and was super confused and started wondering if I was wrong. I shut down my doubts with larry youtube videos and masterposts etc. I wondered for a while if BOTH larry and elounor were real and if that even made sense but I didn’t like that theory and I dismissed it quickly. In 2014, I had loads of doubts again: when chokuhblock became a houie (thought they broke up) and other big larries at the time. However I saw how badly they were treated for their opinions and I didn’t fancy receiving the same treatment so I shut up and carried on larying, even though I started wondering myself if they’d broken up. Why did they go such long periods of time without seeing each other and why were they so distant on stage? I shut these thoughts down with the thought of the tttoos and strong. 2015 is the year, I nearly became an ex-larrie. When Louis was announced as a father, I was a mess for weeks, I cried everyday and avoided social contact. I left the fandom for a few weeks but then I came back. I kept going by thinking about the paternity test. I thought it would be over before Freddie was born. When he was born, I entertained the idea that Freddie was really louis’ and that larry was no longer real. I kept saying wait until the paternity test but it never came. As time went by I started playing around with different ideas in my head saying that maybe Louis was the father and that larry broke up (and maybe got back together) or that Freddie was larry’s child. I was afraid to leave the fandom or become a houie after the horrendous treatment of @scrufflecake and @allegedlymags, who were some of my fave larries. Fastforward to 2017, I was seriously considering that Freddie was Louis’ and could no longer bare babygate theories. After the LAX airport incidence with Elounor, it was the final straw for me and i concluded that freddie was louis’, louis wanted to be with eleanor whether their relationship was real or not and that larry were definitely not together. Eventually I concluded that Elounor is legit and always has been and larry have never been in a committed relationship. However I still stand by the idea that they have a history and something happened between them. I think their were feelings involved and they’ve slept together and that their ship and compass tattoos match but they’re not together Louis has chosen Eleanor. I had some help along the way. Talking to @debunkinglarry about Freddie really helped me realize the truth and @the-lourries offered alternative options that seemed really appealing to me.
Hi this is my post I want to add that my headcanon about larry is just that, a headcanon. I’m not 100% sold that they’ve hooked up, sorry that its phrased that way. I do tend to believe they at least had mutual or unrequited crushes going on in 2011.

These boys are so strong though, and have continued to work and have given so much joy to this fandom through all of that and all of the other stuff they’ve been dealing with since 2010, but fans still continue to dilute and overlook that achievement by comparing their career trajectories. If that helps you deal with the hiatus, knock yourself out - it’s not for me though but then I’m just a tiny blog with a tiny voice in a fandom that seemingly hangs on to every word posted from blogs with a massive reach. It saddens me though, and often I wonder why I bother. Then one of the boys does something typically sweet and I pull up my big girl pants and get on with streaming tracks and videos, faith restored.
Please let 2018 be a much better year, personally, for both of them and the year that this fandom finally gets its shit together and realises that there’s more to life than proving to your peers that two men are still together, possibly for your own peace of mind but also, let’s be honest, for notes and followers. Creating a fandom-run website for Louis is a step in the right direction but what use is it if a large chunk of the fandom isn’t using it on principle because of who’s behind it or because they’ve lost interest in Larry and in particular one half of that pairing because he’s still enmeshed in stunts, (for whatever reason)?
I think fandom energy could be used much more productively if we stopped focussing on the ‘are-they-or-aren’t-they-together’ stuff and treated them the same way we treat any other artist. If you love their music, buy it, stream it and promote it. If you don’t, then don’t.
Real talk now. We, as Larries, have always been the tin hat wearing cockroaches of this fandom - there’s no getting away from that. The passion and dedication with which we’ve supported these men and the amount of support we give to the LGBT+ community gets overlooked because of our reputation of being deluded zealots. We’re never going to win any popularity contests, so it irks me that Louis could be missing out on support because of that Larrie taint.
Maybe if the big Larrie blogs stopped trying to convince the fandom of the ‘realness’ of Larry and talked about them more as individuals, things would improve - leave that sort of thing to the fanfic writers. I’ve been a Larrie since 2013, and I always will be but I think the time has come to stop evangelising and preaching the Larry gospel and take a more intelligent approach. I would absolutely hate to think that how we conduct ourselves has a negative impact on Louis’ chances for success on top of the damage done by stunts with regards to disengagement of his fan base. I don’t see it as giving up. I see it as growing up and shutting up to reduce the stigma and who knows? If the Larrie noise reduces, the stunts could thin out too.
Anyway, that’s my tuppence worth that was sparked by a feeling of sadness for all they’ve gone through and are still going through. It’s just my thoughts - not that anyone will take notice of little old me. I just needed to offload it though because it was really harshing my mellow, so yeah …. rant over.

Sure there will be more for their SM narratives, H or L flying around, pronoun neutral live songs, blue and green, friends and family hanging together, location hints etc. But they will be at the same time opposite stunts(SL: some events are real, and yes some may be fake. but it’s better to believe all are or at least could be real than to not believe any of them at all, and you also respect your idols feelings this way as well, you can feel sad when they’re sad, or joy when they express joy), GF, maybe more babies, engagements, or marriage some day, and it will keep going to entertain the masses and hide their real life. So be smart, look at what has happened since the hiatus started two years ago, and after years of hopes to see a Larry progress.
Let’s become more mature fans, learn to detach ourselves step by step emotionally. That doesn’t mean you can’t like their music of course, but that means we regain time in our lives, and learn to treat them like other artists that we like, not anymore like novel heroes with a dream and dramatic love story that we will finally see one day with a happy ending for our joy. It’s hard I know, but I’m progressing day by day, becoming less sensitive to the bullshit, being able to stay away longer periods. And you will succeed too if you are ready to accept. x

I think sometimes it’s really easy to forget that, no matter where you stand on a certain discussion and no matter what side you take regarding a certain issue, you can always choose to do so in a respectful manner.
If we were to strip everything down to the basics, take away what different people think and believe and how that clashes with some other beliefs, we would probably all agree the basis of any interaction should be respect.
I’ve said it tirelessly and I will continue to repeat it: at the end of the day, no matter if you are an anti or a larrie or a larry shipper or a houie, beyond what you think about the rest of fandom sections, you ought to respect and treat with kindness other people. And that’s what antis and larries and houies and all of us are: PEOPLE.
WE SHOULD ALWAYS AIM TO TREAT PEOPLE WITH KINDNESS AND RESPECT.
The boys, their sons, their parents, their friends and girlfriends, their managers, the fans. They are all fundamentally people.
Keep defending your points if you want, keep holding onto your beliefs for dear life if you think you should but please don’t forget that you should never overstep the boundaries of respect. Feeling attacked doesn’t justify attacking, thinking something is unfair doesn’t justify attacking, thinking you are right and someone is wrong doesn’t justify going out of your way to disrespect that person.

Excellent question! I call myself a soft anti because my approach is purely about getting people to accept Freddie and Bear and be kinder towards the girlfriends and ex-girlfriends and understand that they are NOT being forced on the men regardless of whether the relationship is real or not (I think they are real). That’s what I care about getting people to be more accepting of the men’s lives. I don’t care if someone believes in Larry or Ziam or do I care about tinhatting or debunking that’s for other antis to deal with. I’ll only reblog a debunk post for references especially if I myself thought the moment was real or to offer help to other ex-larries or fence sitters but I don’t debunk things myself very often. I might if I feel it’s necessary but otherwise I can’t be bothered with it? Does that help? Also I’m fine with houies and fencesitters I was one fairly recently so they’ll receive no judgement from me whatsoever I promise that. That’s how I differ from other antis. Preferably it would be good if people could accept that Elounor is real and Louis did have an affair with Briana it makes it easier but it will come in time if people can accept Freddie first that’s fantastic. 😊💖😘

3 years since the "in fact straight" tweet
It’s been 3 years since this super controversial tweet and people still assume Louis is gay or not straight. I’ll be honest I used to find this tweet really offensive and upsetting but I read a good post by @lrambling I think? Which made me change my thoughts about it. During the time of the article people were convinced Louis and Harry were coming out very soon, myself included. He received hundreds of thousands of tweets about it and Harry’s name is mentioned in both the headline and article. He made an assumption that the article was about Larry or his sexuality. He was upset because the love of his life Eleanor and his entire family were relentlessly being harassed about it. Louis isn’t homophobic, he says he support Gay fans in an interview and has signed Rainbow Direction merchandise and there are some stories were he has had a positive reaction to Rainbow flags this is speculative and comes from larries so I would take it with a grain of salt. The tweet was not intentionally homophobic at all. However out of context I agree that it sounds very homophobic but he’s only lashed out two or three times in 5 years about Larry rumours. That doesn’t sound overly homophobic to me. I’m sure he’d react the same way if people said he was secretly dating Bebe for example. It’s not because Harry is a man it’s because people assume his relationship is fake, his son is not his and he is a liar 🤥 and exploits women for money 💰 you can see why the theories upset him. He didn’t care that people thought he was gay in 2010 or 2011 it wasn’t until mid 2012 when he was really serious about Eleanor that he got pissed off. When people said to Eleanor they hoped her “contract” would expire soon and the like.
Louis is NOT homophobic some of his friends are but he doesn’t evidently share their views. Please let this idea go. It’s hurtful and untrue.
It's important to remember that Louis publically identifies as straight and wants to be seen as such. Tweeting at Louis and calling him gay or claiming he's lying about his relationship is not only "outing" him (if people are correct) but their disrespecting him and erasing his sexuality and the way he personally identifies which is wrong. Sexuality isn't black or white it's complicated and we can only take his word for it. He has also chosen to publically date Eleanor whether they're really together or not (I think they are but not everyone does). People need to understand that when they ship real people, they are shipping their constructed public personas, not who they are in private and that is something tin hats of any kind frequently misunderstand. You will never be aware of what a stranger’s genuine self is, especially if they are a celebrity.
No matter how many interviews they do or fans they meet, you are not their friend. You can be close to them in the way that fans are close to people they love and admire, but you do not truly know them, and you likely never will. Trying to force them to reveal the parts of themselves that they keep private by necessity is disrespectful and invasive.
Larries vs Larry shippers now... my god
This is a response to this post and others of it’s nature :
Hello Larries, I notice some of you have been whining about larry shippers now for not subscribing to your brand of toxic insanity, yet still enjoying fandom! I have something to say to you.
Larry shippers are awesome fans because they don’t 1. engage in nasty blogging behaviours 2. insult Louis and Harry or their families 3. do things that makes LH&F feel uncomfortable 4. feel threatened by Harry/Louis dating other people or 5. feel overwhelming anxiety any time Louis has an opportunity where he just might mention his real life child (oh no!) during an interview. Shippers accept the boys for who they are and don’t feel entitled to any particular reality.
So then, are you jealous that unlike you, shippers live stress-free fandom lives? How about you stop blaming everyone else for not doing things the way you do when you know their way isn’t harming anyone, and take a look at the real issue here: The stressful environment you’ve all created for yourselves.
Larry shippers aren’t Larries because they aren’t conspiracy theorists and they know Freddie is Louis’ child. You say you’re not a cult, and yet you can’t seem to stand people who even ship Larry to think differently from you, you can’t stand for anyone of them to not subscribe to the insane theories and conspiracies you guys love so much. I think there is a reason you feel threatened by shippers. Deep down you know that not having to worry about Larry being real and the unrelenting attempts to fold the fabric of reality to fit your narrative every 5 seconds to meet other’s expectations and not having to worry about Freddie, yes that’s right, still being Louis’ child, makes the shippers happier and more carefree than the festering depression that lies within your side of the fandom.
Life can be what you make of it. If you are tired of the way certain theories are making you feel, if you’re tired of how some make you depressed all the time, then there is something seriously wrong with those theories, and you should seriously consider unsubscribing from them. Happiness is everyone’s own responsibility. Take charge of yours.
