@lovaend spoke to the court: ❛ i won't kill you … yet. ❜ / lyney (for focalors; my take on lyney specifically)
"This again..." You don't know if he reminds you of it consistently to attempt to frighten you (or Furina), or if he does it to remind himself of what he is meant to do. He has done plenty that would leave plenty frightened for their lives, it certainly has shaken Furina up who struggles to not feel meek and threatened in his presence, but at this point you just think of him like a petulant child that is desperately trying to prove that he can do something to make his parents proud. It is debatable if killing another person would make more parents proud or not. (The jury is out on that one still /sarcasm) Still, you feel incredibly annoyed by it today.
'Fulfill the prophecy and I'll take your gnosis in the end.'
'Once this is over I'll kill you.'
'You don't have it in you to let everyone die.'
What a confident boy. A misplaced confidence when it's with you. You were created to protect Furina. Protection comes in many different types. If death is the easiest way to protect Furina then it would not be outside the realm of possibility to simply let everyone die if it meant that Furina wouldn't die alone.
'Then enjoy drowning with your citizens'
'You foolish boy, Do you think all of teyvet wouldn't flood?'
He had no instant answer. Almost jarred by the fact you would even propose the idea, much less have thought that far ahead. That Teyvet would flood. The curse on Fontaine has never, and will never only be Fontaine's curse. It is a cruel curse passed down by the gods that could drown all of Teyvet. Was it a short sighted curse handed down by Celestia? One that should have only had those baring the sins of Egeria falling to the waters? Even if those "sins" were turn you into nothing but water, humans simply can't survive in a world made of nothing but the seas from the depths. Yet, when he did fire back he said you didn't have it in you to let them all drown.
(Well, to you, to them, to everyone... I am nothing more then a god. Why would a god care?)
"Do you find comfort in reminding yourself this will be over?" You tilt your head, That eerie sincerity that you always pose towards him. A question without a hint of malice. You are not speaking down to him, though many may see it that way. No, you are genuine. A genuine question towards a boy who claims to be your executioner. "Yet, will that end actually come? The ending you want. The prophecy averted, my blood on your hands, the country of Fontaine... simply left behind in your wake. Afterall, it is only important to you in the moments the prophecy hangs in the air. After that they may as well fend for themselves."
You giggle after you say that "I'm sure you think "Oh, but Sir Neuvillette will keep the peace", which is a fools errand. He has only stood by Fontaine because of me. Then your next thought would be "Well, that's not my business then." because this isn't your home." You take a step towards him. He is barely taller then you... A fact you think of frequently. Has he not finished growing? Or is he technically an adult who never grew? "But if you think there won't be people who don't try to strike your "home" for ruining their home- Well, I suppose you'll just have to get more blood on your hands. Some of those who you'd face would be those same kids you once saw on the streets... I suppose family is only those that align with your morals."
Afterall, you are a "god". What do you understand about family? You never had one, you'll never have one. You don't want a family. Not if this is how a family should function. Surely the Fatui is simply a poor example, but you have heard far to many horror stories of how families function.
"Lyney, Surely you can answer this for me. Afterall, I have no concept of family" Your hand comes to rest on his cheek, your eyes narrowing once more. "If one of your siblings decided that they wanted to side with me, would you kill them after me? Or before me? Would you make a display of them for betraying your family? I never quite know how families like yours function, yet it's the only ones I am able to familiarize myself with."
