Hey i also love Luffy! I love when he is goofy and happy and care free and when he is angry and about to kick major ass and when show his pure determination to archive his goal and when he display his loyalty towards his friends and allys (which with him is practically the same thing) i jus.... Love Luffy man.

he just so honest and blunt and that was the very first thing i remember about him - how he told coby i hate you because coby didn't stand up for himself and had no belief that he could, which honestly made me laugh outloud because like - you never see any characters like that, in which this bluntness is portrayed as an honest character trait instead of a joke.

luffy just knows what he wants from the world, and knows he's unafraid to get it. he holds his ideals close and high, looks to the world and thinks mine, and is so selfish that he's selfless. he smiles and everything falls into place, people falling in line because they want to. he orders people to be free, and they don't have to listen but they do and he's just. so good.

he's stupid and bright in all the right ways, he knows what matters most but also what matters to his crew. he's not afraid to cry or laugh or be silly, he's not afraid to show weakness to his crew because he trusts them, and he just... gives to people.

luffy is just. again. selfish. his dream is entirely selfish - if he is the pirate king, no one else will be, and no one else wiill be the freest person in the world. he doesn't even care. he just smiles and laughs and embraces it, and fights for his crews dream's no matter what. he just selfishly demands that his crew be free, be happy, be loved, and he never says they have to but they want to because he'll help them do whatever they want. even if it hurts them.

and luffy just - being alone is worse than being hurt. yet. he does so twice to remain stronger, he sends his crew away to make them safe, and he just keeps goinng and going and going nno matter how hurt he gets. one piece is a series that says sacrifice without reward - without honestly wanting to live - is stupid, and luffy lives that ideal by getting stronger and stronger and stronger and just -

oh god i just love him a lot he makes me really happy. like. extremely happy. like im smiling talking about luffy rn. he's just. good. best boy. he's a bastard and i love him so fucking much
