if you're new to taking care of yourself and doing things that are just for you, then i can highly recommend scheduling it. write on your calendar that on sunday you will be alone, watching tv shows all day, or every thursday you'll use a hair and face mask. or mondays you won't set an alarm and just sleep until your body decides it's enough, or every saturday you buy yourself fresh flowers - even grocery store flowers are nice. if you can adjust your budget to have an amount that fits you that is marked solely for indulgence like a new bag, or even saving up for an expensive video game you dream of, or whatever. and if those things aren't possible in your life right now, then write on your calendar that you drank X amount of water today, or put in that on wednesdays you eat fruit. if you're conditioned to invest all your time and energy (and money) into other people, or your work or your studies, then putting small acts solely for you on your calendar and sticking to them, can be the groundwork for teaching yourself that you deserve to receive your own kindness, and in the beginning you might feel guilty or anxious about it, but if you keep doing it then it's gonna get easier and you will get better at it. it sounds so trivial, but when your brain is your enemy it can make a significant impact on how you feel about yourself.
