MCU FAN-IN-CAST: My fancasting of fans into future roles in the MCU
Danielle Pacifico aka @love-allthingsmarvel as Cassandra (Cassie) Lang aka Stature
With somewhat physical similarities that can pass you as Paul Rudd and Judy Greer’s daughter or a much older version of the adorable Abby Ryder Fortson, teenage Cassie Lang would be an outstanding role for you! Metaphorically the girl next door to Avengers Tower in the sense that as a fan you’ve grown up in this era of superheroes and you feel like you know each of them personally in which case Cassie Lang actually would.
Synopsis: Scott is your super cool young dad who didn’t really raise you because of his criminal/crime fighting life and yet you were literally born to be apart of such a life! So as a child, when you were with him somehow you naturally or sneakedly exposed yourself to Pym Particles, though there never seemed to be any effect to worry your mom and stepdad. But then Infinity War happens, and tragic strikes. (POTENTIAL SPOILER WARNING) Your dear father dies as the hero you’ve always known him to be. You’re so devastated that suddenly something does start to happen. As you become extremely sorrowful you actually begin to shrink in stature. Your parents fear these powers because they know you’ll follow in your father’s footsteps and they unwittingly try to get you to literally move on from your hero’s death. So you decide to runaway to Hope and Grandpa Hank’s home where they try to teach you this new found ability and you seamlessly pick up on how to grow and shrink at will. Truly you are your father’s daughter. With much of the world rebuilding, Hope takes you under her wing teaching you how to be a true hero like your dad but as the New Avengers would call her away you would want to do more on your own. Being as savvy a millennial-techie you are, you spot some sort of coded message looking for young heroes. You go out to the location and instantly recognize someone you know from the Avengers life, Hawkeye Kate Bishop who was learned under Hawkeye Clint Barton. You instantly make friends with her and though you didn’t get a personal invite, she vouches for you to be welcomed to stay. And thus your story begins as Stature, member of the Young Avengers.
Lets face it, young heroes are in the works to take over the MCU alongside the likes of Spider-Man over the next 10 years. So I’ve predicted a number of times that Paul Rudd would die in Infinity War and the third outing of his franchise would simply be named The Wasp. But his death actually is canon to Cassie’s superhero arc! We also know Marvel works in 6 movie contracts and have recasted actors before i.e. Terrance Howard as James Rhodes and Edward Norton as Bruce Banner. While Abby is cute now, recasting her as a teenager with the help of a little time jump isn’t too far fetched, considering that she is only 9 right now and unlikely to grow up into this role. Your 6 films would include at least 1-2 Wasp sequel films should they give her her own franchise (99% sure they will), a trilogy of Young Avengers films, and then 1-2 major crossover-Avengers films. But back to character traits beside looks, Cassie wears her heart on her sleeves, was born to have super powers, and is utterly adored by her peers. Her powers while still controlled can manifest themselves through emotions such as shrinking when sad or scared and growing when angered or anxious. She never lost that childhood sense of wonderment in the super world and when it was her time she embraced it with greatness as it had always been hers.
