We saw lots of Bald Eagles in Alaska while on our Holland America Cruise. This one was in Juneau. I remember as a teen that they were placed on the endangered species list. In 1995 they were moved to threatened and in 2007 they numbered high enough to not be any danger. This little side trip up Craggie Creek Trail in Alaska was simply stunning. After driving as far as we could (comfortably), we hoofed it to the top of the pass and was rewarded with an old mining cabin, glacial lake, and some residual snow from last winter. It was way to windy to summit #SouthSuicidePeak the other day, but I managed to walk #rainbowpeak ridgeline without getting blown off. A feat in itself. This was the first chance I’ve had to explore the east side of #mchughcreek valley.
