Our pets are not merely animals we care for; they are companions entrusted to us, teaching us gentleness, joy, and faithful love.
As St. Isaac the Syrian reminds us:
“A merciful heart burns with love for the whole of creation: for men, for birds, for beasts, and for every creature.”
So today, we give thanks for our furry friends, their purrs, their playful spirits, and their silent companionship. May we love them with the same tender care that our Creator shows to us all.
