I can't believe it's already day 8 of @helsinkifilmfestival - Love & Anarchy! There are still few days to go, so I remind you that I'm busy with the festival and can't react all the messages I get. Sorry. @finnishfilmaffair also started yesterday and @aurorastudiosfi hosted a party for the international guests last night. And as if a full day at the film festival wasn't enough, of course I went to help with the party as well. It is no secret that I live and breath movie related events or cinema itself. Film Festivals are more than just events for me. They are a lifestyle. This year alone I've visited or worked on 8 different film festivals. Which is quite a lot considering the situation in the world. The latest one was @helsinkifilmfestival - Love & Anarchy and it ended last Sunday. 11 days, 560 individual movie screenings, 29 000 customers and 9 supervisor shifts later I'm glad to say it's over! It was a tough one to work on. I managed to watch 33 films from the program this year. More than before. I've watched a movie in cinemas 204 times this year and 81 of those times happened at a film festival. And there's more to come still (at least 4 different festivals on my schedule). If I'm lucky and events are still allowed in Finland. The next festival @loudsilentsfi (a silent film festival at @kinoregina) is sort of already "knocking" on my door cos it's happening next week. Day 5. @helsinkifilmfestival - Love & Anarchy. Note to self: Doing 5 different film festivals back to back at my thirties is a really bad idea. I can't even remember the last time I was this tired. While the world is ending so ended my eventful spring apparently... Unfortunately it seems that @helsinkicineaasia (where I was volunteering for the last 4 days and saw 13 movies at) was the last film festival in Finland this spring. All the other ones has been canceled/postponed or they are still on hold. There were supposed to be at least 4 different film festivals coming up in the following weeks where I would work at and so many other cool events that has been either canceled or postponed. Like @jussi_gaala (Finnish Oscars) and The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit Concert with @boydbilly or @hbo VIP Premiere screening of @westworldhbo 3rd season opening. As a film and movie related event lover this corona pandemic closing everything down is absolutely torture for me. And it also affects my livelihood really badly. But the most important thing is that everyone's safe and this could be over soon as possible! So take care of your hygiene and avoid large crowds. And let's hope that the economy/companies and especially culture and freelance workes will survive this.
