vada had just arrived home from a night out , but instead of heading straight inside she figured a quick smoke wouldn’t hurt. her first drag lingers , soft and slow , when a familiar silhouette catches her eye — the cigarette leaves her lips almost instinctively to rest between her fingers as she lifts a hand in greeting , smiling at lenny. " it’s fuckin’ freezing tonight , huh ? " vada drawls , voice low and teasing. another slow drag , she holds the cigarette towards the other. " ciggy ? "

Two long flights with no sleep had begun to hit Javi. He'd originally planned on heading straight to Sloane's parents' house from the airport, but he wasn't fully convinced he'd stay awake long enough to get there. The brutal cold in the air could only keep him up for so long. He braved the temperature to get himself a cup of coffee, ducking into the shop like he could somehow outrun the frigid weather. Javi inhaled the strong smell of coffee in the air, his stomach growling as he stepped up to the counter, eyes on his pocket as he fumbled to get his wallet out. "Sorry, I am all over the place, clearly I need the-" His eyes lifted, locking on hers, and instantly Javi was nineteen again, rambling to his friend only to realize it was someone else. Here they were again, just a counter and a register between the two of them. "Hi."

key turns in the lock as it has about a thousand times before. at some point, enough had to be enough. surely her and kai could duke it out and everything would be fine. eyes glance at noah and wes on the couch as she passes the living area, not having it in her to give them the courtesy of any type of greeting. she wasn't here for them anyway, and they knew that. maeve shoves kai's door open, mouth open ready to start an argument, except it's quickly shut as her eyes glance around an empty room. this couldn't be happening. she takes a deep breath as her eyes squeeze shut. “BERT. ERNIE.” she calls, loud enough to be heard from the living room. “WHERE THE FUCK IS MY BROTHER ?!”

"Mm, I needed this." Tabby half-mumbled, her cheeks puffed out like a squirrel's. It was a really nice day, sunny and somewhat warm, and so she'd rushed down to the Fish House to get food. She missed it too much when the weather was cold and she couldn't sit outside. "Here, take a bite of this, I got a new sauce this time. Something lemon-y. I'm trying to branch out." Her hand held out her fork, a piece of fish waiting expectantly. She wasn't sick, she didn't care about sharing germs. "So, how was your weekend? I meant to text you, but I got caught in a Youtube rabbit hole and I barely pulled myself out by Monday morning."

the dark cloud that's taken over ofeliya's house is pitiful. pillows and blankets are strewn haphazardly around her living room and there's a growing pile of snack wrappers on her coffee table threatening to grow legs and start walking around the room. she doesn't have it in her to be embarrassed, though, especially not around billy. blanket is wrapped tighter around her, head resting on his shoulder as they snuggle their blues away on the couch. “HOW DID WE END UP HERE ?”
