"Unpacking?" So he is new to Cider Point— She wonders what's brought him here. A friend, maybe? Music? "Don’t tell me this is your first day in town?" Her lips part in a gasp; practised, calculated. "Oh—" Then a rehearsed giggle as she gingerly shakes his hand. "Grace."
"Ah, not my first day, but I did get here this week." His laugh settles in his chest. "Grace. Nice to meet you." Javi rests his forearms on the edge of the bar, his hands clasped together. "What would you say is your favorite part of living here? If you could recommend something inside, that'd be appreciated. I'm not handling this cold very well at all."
marco: There's more where that came from. marco: What's the total? marco: Only if I can come dressed as Collette this time. 😉
ike: can't tell you the final score until we actually go out. ike: hot. ike: you with a bob.. i can see it now.

riley: how long were you gunna wait to tell me you're seeing my sister?
levi: it's still new. i really like her and want to see where it goes without any outside forces involved. levi: i'm sorry you're upset, though. i didn't mean to make it feel like i'm being sneaky.
There was something so familiar about the way his eyes lingered on her, and Sloane felt herself remembering what this was. What it was like to have a husband she loved, because she did. And she had missed him desperately. So when his arms were around her and then he was apologizing, earnestly, she felt that love again, tenfold. "Javi." She all but whined, but she felt like she was overflowing with her gratitude to the universe. For bringing him back to her. "God, there's so much I have to tell you! Come sit. Sit!" She grinned, hearts in her eyes. "We'll talk about the heavy stuff, soon. Plus, I've got a roommate, you know? I have a life here and.. well... this is gonna sound a lot worse than it is meant to, but no one really knows I'm married?"
Javi's hand lifted, resting at the back of her head as he held her close. He slid it down to cup her cheek, just taking her in for a moment before stepping back to slide into a seat. "I can't wait to hear it all.." He pulled his chair in, heart still thudding in his chest. Javi shed the giant coat, draping it over the back of the chair as he nervously awaited her words. "No one knows you're married..?" His eyebrows pulled together, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. "Can I ask.. does anyone knows you're in any kind of relationship?" He paused, "Are you.. seeing other people?"
Declan curled up next to Ivy, and Cillian slowly reached a hand out to rest on her arm, thumb dragging slow, comforting circles on her skin. "My sweet Ives." He could almost tear up himself, hating the pang in his chest at her tears; at her pain. He knew the feeling all too well, but even so. Heartbreak was infinite... all-consuming. This wasn't pain that Cillian would be able to expel with the snap of his fingers. "I'm so sorry. From the bottom of my heart. I know... I know how this feels and I know it's everything right now, and I'll be right here to sit with you, through anything you need. But I promise, it will feel easier. It will. You'll write about it. You'll feel everything in feckin' technicolor and it will hurt but you'll get out of this on the other side. It's you and me together, babe."
Ivy scooped Declan up faster than he could settle, holding him to her chest with a trembling breath. "I just thought it'd be different.. I don't know why." She whispered, her eyes flicking over to him as he spoke. Cillian had a way of making her feel everything more deeply, but never in a bad way. She was able to process her feelings faster, able to identify exactly where the pain was, and he never judged her for any of it; because he was the same. It felt like they'd drifted into each others lives at the perfect time. "I know I'll get through it.. I know that one day I'll be with someone who loves me the way I deserve to be loved.. I say it to you all the time.. I just really wanted it to be him.." Her lip quivered, throat closing around itself as stray tears rolled down her cheeks, "Can-.. Can you grab your guitar?"
“Shut up, Ivy! Those are so cute!” Winter squealed, feet kicking excitedly against their rest. When Ivy leaned over to get a peak, she ducked her head and shrugged. “I went for red and pink polka dots. I don't really do this stuff very often, so I didn't want to get too ambitious, you know? Thanks again for the invite, by the way. I already feel like a whole new woman!”
"Thank you! I thought they'd be cute for the theme." Ivy beamed, admiring Winter's nails. "I love them!" She turned her body back to the nail tech, but kept her eyes on her friend, "Anytime, seriously! I love an excuse to pamper and we're clearly leaning into Galentine's this year, so anything for my girl." She laughed, relaxing a bit in the chair, "You know what? We need another movie night soon!"
❛ definitely. ❜ stellan echoes with a whistle. ❛ that bad, huh? ❜ in the most solid show yet of their ever-growing olive branch, stellan takes just enough hits to make sure the joint stays lit in the face of the worsening weather, before handing it to ivy. ❛ some dickhead didn't clean his industrial, comes ranting and raving say it's my fault it got infected. knocks one of the work stations over, tattoo artist goes mad, rightfully so. i'm here late ‘cause i clean up my messes. — YOU still haven’t said why you're out. ❜
Ivy lets out the smallest laugh, kicking at a pebble beneath her shoe. "That bad." She repeats, taking the joint from his hands and bringing it to her lips to inhale slowly. "Sounds about right. Obviously, you're the one to blame." Her tone dances as she teases him, her smile fading slightly as he questions her again. Ivy takes another slow drag and passes it back over to him as she blows the smoke to the side. "I was just- I took myself to dinner, sat in the taproom for a bit, but I didn't feel like drinking so I just kept ordering soda before I decided to leave and.. there you were so.. Here I am."
"Give me five seconds, baby! Lemme just make one more drink and then I'll go on break." She tried as hard as she could to pay attention to the maple latte with salted caramel cold foam on the line, but she could feel her hands trembling. Once that was out, she quickly made one of her own specialty drinks, the Coquito, based entirely off of the Puerto Rican cocktail. She got the go-ahead from her manager and soon her apron was off and she slipped out from behind the bar, setting the drink at one of the cafe's tables and wrapping her arms around Javi's shoulders, burying her face in the puffiness of his coat. "I missed you so much. I've been so lost without you. I just... it wasn't good for me, California. And that's not fair to you. And we have so much to... I don't know. We got married so young. And I will never ever regret that. I love you so much. But I was hurting, you know? And I didn't know what to do."
Javi nodded, softly tapping his hand on the counter. "Take your time, love." He swiveled to look around the shop before stepping off to the side. His eyes always found their way back to her, watching the way she worked behind the counter, how effortlessly she seemed to move, and the way she walked directly to him once she had the chance. Javi's arms wrapped as tightly around her as he could with the limitations of his coat. "Ay, no. No apologies, Sloane. You know I love you. You did what you had to and I was stupid for not understanding.. I couldn't understand missing something so much you had to go.. until I missed you so much it physically hurt. I should have listened, and I owe it to you to try here. I'm here, Mami. I'm not going anywhere."
❛ that depends. you driving or you smoking? ❜ he takes the lighter with a quirked brow and the whisper of a smirk on his lips, shielding it from the falling snow as he lit the joint in a few, short moments. ❛ you're out late. ❜
"Smoking. Definitely smoking." She chuckles, falling into stride beside him. "Yeah, well, I could say the same about you, but I assume you were working.. in which case, I have no defense." She takes the lighter back, tucking both of her hands into her pockets. "Long night?"

Sometimes, Noah absolutely loved being up at the register. Every so often, he'd spot a new face and his eyes would fill up with delight. Like.. in this instance, how the hell did a petite man who looked like bottled sunshine end up in Cider of all places? "What's up, man? You don't look like you're from around here." Noah grinned, leaning on the counter, a glint in his eyes. "Welcome to my family's shop! You in the mood for some bangin' seafood?"
Javi wasn't having the easiest time navigating his way around the town, and it had definitely taken him longer than he'd expected to find this place. By the time he'd stepped inside, his stomach was greeting the man behind the counter before he had. "Ah, that's because I am not." He chuckled, "I have not heard sweeter words in a while. Of course I am ready for some bangin seafood." He joked, eyes fixated on the menu as he dropped a hand down, "Alright, Papi, what's your favorite thing here?"
Grace isn't sure how much closer to rock bottom she can get. Maybe it's dramatic, to feel this hopeless with so many days still to go until Valentine's, but she's never been this close without someone to spend it with, even if just someone she'd just met. So maybe it's the desperation talking, or the few glasses she's already downed, but there's a new face at the bar tonight and she's determined to try her luck. She slides into the seat beside him. "Come here alone tonight?"
The sound of the seat behind him being occupied pulls Javi's attention from the large tv screen. He glances over, a gentle smile on his lips, "I did. I had a long day of unpacking and a very empty fridge, so this seemed like a great idea." His hand outstretches towards her, "I'm Javi."
"oh," danny pauses, suddenly everything making a lot more sense than it did like twenty seconds ago "that sounds about right, wow. should have put two and two together, huh?" he reaches to rub his face with one hand, bringing his drink with the other to take a quick sip from it "so, you've seen the place change a lot i assume? what's been the biggest change you think?"
Ivy leans her forearms on the table, smiling gently as her nails tapping rhythmically against the wood. "You're all good. There's no telling with this town. We've got people from all over." She thinks about his question, her head tilting to the side with a hum, "Honestly? I think the biggest change is the people. Maybe I just didn't notice as much as a kid, but it feels like lately more people are coming into town. It's great, though, seeing the town grow." Ivy's gaze flicks up from her drink to him, "I mean, what drew you to Cider Point?"

If there's one thing that Javi knows will warm him up, it's a drink, and he's been looking forward to having one all day. His hand wraps around his glass, eyes scanning the room as he takes a sip. He catches someone's eye, unfamiliar to him. Placing his glass down on the bar, Javi gives a small polite nod in her direction before turning back.
Starter: Closed ( @lovedearlove ) Location: Cillian's living-room
"I don't know.." Ivy sniffled softly, holding a mug of tea between her hands that had long sine gone cold. She'd just needed anything to hold onto. "I just thought-.." She steadied her breath slowly, trying to ease that sharp painful feeling in her chest, "I thought this was it this time.. I really liked him, Cillian, I-.. and I thought I knew him and I just feel like such an idiot. I waited eight years to date just to end up feeling like this again.. I feel so stupid." Ivy finally placed the mug down on the coffee table, pulling her knees up and adjusting the messy bun on top of her head. "The second I found what I wanted it-.. it's just over like that."
She could see the dark circles under his eyes, and something in that immediately made Sloane feel fond. Not that she wouldn't, anyways... but there was something particularly endearing about the fact that he came all this way... was completely out of his element, sure. But he was here. And then he spoke, and she could have dropped the mug she was clutching (for dear life). Oh, how she'd missed that voice. They had spoken on Christmas but it had been nine long months, overall. She shrugged a little, feeling nervous, all of a sudden. Why should she feel bashful? This was her husband. "This is my life, now. This and the podcast, I guess. Sort of... acting on the side, now. Or I got into it with caroling and I'm gonna try out for the Spring show, I think. But it's community theatre... you know. Not that it's not! Good. Of course it's good. But it's not...." she paused, hearing herself begin to ramble. Not like Javi wasn't prepared for that, though. She looked down at herself, the coffee stains on her jeans and her hair in loose, unfurling bangs. She wasn't sure that she felt good, but Javi's words had always felt like a balm. "You look like the Michelin Man, baby. You're so..." cute was the word on the tip of her tongue. "I can't believe you're here right now. Do my parents know you're in town?"
"There's nothing wrong with any of that, Sloane. I'm glad you were able to make something for yourself here." He shoved his hands into his large coat, a tiny chuckle escaping his lips. He was not prepared for how cold it would be, let alone the pile up of snow. He'd never seen so much ice in his life. "I'm so puffy, I know." Javi glanced down at himself, his raspy laugh still soft and tentative. "I called them once I got off the plane, gave them a heads up that I'd be coming by... I told them how-.. well.." Sad eyes met hers, "I really missed you, Sloane. I have so much I have to say to you and I wanna hear what you've have to say. I wanna talk this out."
marco: I knew I would get you! 🤭 marco: Do I get points for it being homemade? marco: Oh gosh 🤦♂️ Don't get ahead of yourself Ike, the rat suit is a third date occasion! marco: Nice to know you're dreaming of me already :)
