Gaze shifts over to a voice he was learning who it belonged to. A new town, a new location, but same old job he always looked for. Of course recommendations came and they worked as he stood here at his new job and finished the first day. A small smile pulls at the blond's lips as he shrugs. "I didn't know I had that much of a reputation." Leon answers, now turning to fully face her as he noticed things closing up. Seemed they were done for the night and he wasn't about to complain. Everything had run smoothly on his end, from what he saw, and seeing as she wasn't here to complain and actually praised him in some form it seemed that was the case. "But thank you, glad to make a good impression on the first day." His small smile began to grow into a crooked grin, one that they would realize was his trademark expression when he wasn't on the clock. "That does mean everything turned out alright, right?"

Jaw tenses, looking away as he stands in his apartment with arms crossed. He knew he'd been avoiding her and not just her, well, everyone. But mainly it had been her, shutting people out so he could and wouldn't hurt anyone. His wrist and side ached at the memory as he kept gaze away from her. The creeping feeling of being that failure, being nothing as he was reminded of the attack. It was only two years ago and he still hadn't returned to the ring. Not that he wasn't trying, but the last doctor said no and that had been before he met her. He hadn't tried since then, afraid of being told no again. He still doesn't say anything, arms moving to cross over his chest this time as he shrugs. She did have a right to know, there was no argument there but saying it out loud? So used to shutting out, so used to being on his own, he didn't know how to handle this.

Brows furrow at the words offered from the other, hand holding at his right shoulder where the bullet had entered. It had worked to stop him from swinging the blade at the end of his arm but not enough to safe the life who had fired. What he hadn't expected in all of that was offered help from her. Not that they were enemies but neither were exactly friends. If anything, they worked together when they had to but it was begrudgingly. At least that was how it felt on his side. So he slowly turned to face her, letting green gaze looking her over for a moment before speaking up and taking the offered glass of what he soon would realize upon first sip was alcohol. It was definitely one way to ease the pain. "Suppose I trusted you wouldn't poison it." He half mumbles before shifting his weight from one foot to the other. "But, uh, thanks." Andrei mumbles before taking another sip. "Enough to help me get going then." He nods, beginning to move to lave.
