he's been a bad friend. terrible, awful, the worst. he's not about to bring that up, he's not about to make this about himself but the immense guilt that settles beneath his bones, weighing him down isn't something he can ignore entirely. all he wants is for her to be well, but it seems like such an impossible desire right now. even if it's a must more than a want. a need. he's letting himself into the home, he's hoping it's okay. that he's a face she wants to see, not a face she's come to dread. wandering up the stairs he's walking into the bedroom. there's a smile on his lips, one that's gentle; that's soft. ❝ hey, ❞ his voice is just as gentle as the smile, his hand rubbing at his neck. it's something that he's always done when he's nervous. a dead giveaway of the fact. ❝ i'm okay being here right? ❞

Anne: Finding herself in this position she didn't want to believe it. Not her son. Not her oldest child. He'd been doing so great, so she couldn't figure out what had happened. Where had she gone wrong? Moving out of his room, she pulled out her mobile phone dialing hi ex girlfriend. Anne sighed as she leaned against the wall and listened to the phone ring. Calling her probably wasn't a good idea, but she didn't know what else to do. "Mia, sweetheart. - It's Anne." Her voice was hoarse, her throat raw from the sobs that wracked her body when she had found her son.
