If this past year has taught me anything, it’s that it’s ok to be yourself and not hide it. It’s ok to not be perfect. It’s ok to love and lose. It’s ok to be the version of yourself that is your best self that others may not agree with or 113% support, but you’re being YOUrself and that’s what matters.
Lover comes at a time in my life where nothing seems to be quite how I expected it to turn out to be. Many parts of my life have changed drastically. I returned home to a town that I ran away from 8 years ago in search of the real me. I’m back in a place where I haven’t felt comfortable, but needed a soft place to land, a safe place to hit the reset button, and I knew I would be ok here. I truly am alright, right here. Now I come back more confident than ever, not letting anyone tell me who to love or who to be.
Things come and go, seasons change, and time flashes quickly. But life is still beautiful and real, and there’s always an opportunity to take something and learn from it. Taylor, thank you for letting us share in this new season with you. We are all so excited to see you so happy and full of love and pure joy. Don’t ever lose that spark, authenticity, and raw emotion...although I know you never will. We appreciate you opening your heart and letting us celebrate your joy with you.
There are 14 other songs that I haven’t even heard yet, but I also want to thank you for YNTCD, because you’ve helped me feel the most confident I’ve ever been as a gay man. There are so many people in this world who are scared of others who are different than them, because they don’t fit the mold they think they should be. Afraid that we may have good ideas too and make a real difference and impact. Thank you for loving us, supporting us, and standing with us. You don’t know how much that truly means to me. Love, Jordan ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
