4 headcanons on moreno + elijah : the frost & the spider.
moreno recommended elijah in terms of recruitment based off of a special heist in miami; a lot of shit went bad and the shipment of cars either ended up confiscated or destroyed, but somehow the trickster manage to procure the one valued car needed in tip top shape: while their partners saw it as deceptive and a scheme to gain favor, moreno liked that elijah had enough cunning to make a rather terrible situation salvageable.
these two … they have a habit of fucking in the bunker garage ( I'M SORRY I DON'T MAKE THE RULES ): eli might be working on something … moreno comes down and asks if they want a drink because despite being in new york city, it does get a bit warm. the drinks turn to some form of conversation, whether or whatever, moreno notes that elijah's tank top is a bit dirtied, the shirt comes off, eyes lock on each other, and before you know it, moreno's pressed up on the hood of said car, sliding elijah's jeans down before they both get motor oil on them. so anyone knows not to venture down there past 1 am … unless they want a show.
moreno forever teases elijah about how their powers display, but there's a source of genuine fascination behind why eli doesn't per say have web powers or swings around like an actual spiderman. it also leads them into learning more about the origins of anansi, and once they learn their skills lean towards trickery and illusion, they lay off a little bit … that is until halloween roles around and they're waving a m.iles m.orales costume and telling him to get his beefy self in it or they're gonna give him a frosty purple nurple.
while it may not be verbalized so often, moreno likes having elijah around: the underground does good things, and now by association so do they, but alone they often feel villainous because of their path, and their methods can appear rather callous or rigid. it's nice to have someone who's of a similar background, who knows that the life they came from more than likely isn't the life they wanted, but the life they managed to survive on, and won't look down at them because of it.
