It's been an emotional couple of days here in the Houston, Beaumont, & Humble Texas areas. I've met some amazingly strong willed Texans. So many neighborhoods look like this. So many families who have nothing left & have just the shell of their home to start over. It's more heartbreaking than the pictures could ever show. This was truly a humbling experience today, & to be thanked by the families and their children for helping brought me to tears. Thousands of homes have been cleared already in the couple of weeks since Harvey hit, & this is just the tip of the beginning for these communities to get to a starting point to rebuild. Many areas are worse but many areas are whole & helping & taking care of their neighbors. The people of Texas are incredibly resilient & for every home that you see with piles of their life in their front yard you also see the Texas flag & the American flag waving proudly to show that they will not go down & will rebuild stronger. people say Texans are proud, and they are & should be, but with that pride also comes strength, love, hope, patience & the idea that tomorrow will bring more of the same. I have always loved (and been slightly obsessed) with this state but just this week alone has made me love this state even more. #Texasstrong #Houstonstrong #rebuild #honor #strong #love #hope #beaumont #houston #humble #neighbors #community #helping #support #lovetexas #mysouthernsoulishappy 💙❤️🇺🇸 (at Lexington Woods North, Spring, Texas)
