I wanted to do some more practice in Blender, as 3D really interests me! I love the low-poly style; something about it appeals to me and I don’t know what...maybe it’s that sheer departure from photorealism.

This is my first render in Cycles, too. This was a fun project, and I hope to be able to do more soon! Thanks for reading!

Here’s a little video clip of the shot I’m working on this week! I’m actually working on about twelve shots at the same time because they’re all in a group with this one, but I’m focusing today on this one shot. :)

I reworked the ghost and crystal textures that you see here, and right now I’m working on getting the glow of the creature right so it doesn’t shut off like you can see here as well. It’s a little difficult but when I get it right it’s going to be beautiful.

Here’s a work in progress shot of my next model! I worked on the model for most of the day then spent probably an hour and a half making this WIP image. It’s for a larger project I’m working on :)

there's something lurking in the water...

This week and weekend I’ve rigged all the rest of the creatures! In the top picture, on the right is the caribou, and in the water is something else.

The next two photos are the fishbones for one of the creatures I rigged! The last two photos are works in progress shots of the caribou and Atlas interacting.

This is the last scene of the film, and I’m putting all the models together to animate it!

This weekend was fall break for me so I got two extra workdays! I did a lot of stuff:

- changed the design of Atlas; modeled and textured him - finished rigging and weight painting Atlas - made the copied creatures new colors for variation in the final scene (though I did work on that last week before break) - animated four shots that are now ready for rendering

8D IT’S COMING TOGETHER

I mostly finished Atlas’ ship (which I just realized needs to be named! :D), the two planets, Siya and Silvet, and Silvet’s moon, Zetta; I retextured the sharkfish creature, which was previously purple, and finished the fish creature! I am so excited and happy with these.
