Grave stone of Edith & Horace Hebert, Lowell Cemetery, Lowell Mass. Not sure what the chair signifies as he was a harness maker. Should note- I have a chair with the same dog heads! I think they are Irish Setters. Will have to add picture of mine. He was from Germany so Why Irish Setters???

For my midterm project in my Media Literacy class my three friends and I did a documentary on poetry, asking many fellow poets a question that holds the possibility of endless answers; What does poetry mean to you?

In the short time we spent filming this video, I believe I obtained a better understanding of people, and the impact that words can hold. When asking the question mentioned previously, the almost immediate response came accompanied with a smile nearly every time. We heard many different reasons and explanations behind these wonderful poets love for poetry, so many that we could not fit them all in this short film. However, if you take a watch for yourself, hopefully you, too, will find some beauty behind the concept of poetry.

A special thank you to the Brewed Awakenings Coffeehaus in Lowell, Massachusetts for letting us film there and capture so much beauty on camera. We could not have done this without you. Brewed Awakenings holds open mic nights on the first and third Tuesdays of every month, feel free to stop by and share your work if you’re ever in the area!
