We talked a while back about the 3/6/15 locket and I’ve been thinking about it ever since, but I think I just had an epiphany. 🤯

I remember you suggested what if the locket wasn’t an anniversary locket for Big Sur. It was a gift to commemorate locking their love down. And it got me thinking about how it could have been a token of the commitment they made to do whatever they needed to do to stay together even if they couldn’t openly glass closet together anymore after kissgate. It was when Taylor started “dating” Calvin and she and Karlie never hung out alone anymore. And then one year passed and they commemorated that one year by saying “love locked down “ and “one year down”. And then within days, they hung out just the two of them again. Karlie literally flew straight to her from Paris after putting that lock on that bridge and Taylor posted just the two of them with “favorite person to dance with.” And although we have seen Taylor reference it with lyrics and visuals, we’ve never seen the exact locket again. It’s almost as if there was an agreement for one year of them distancing, and it was over 3/6/16.

Am I crazy or does this fit??

i’m still processing my thoughts but i think what you’re saying matches the spirit of what i had been thinking in our previous ask-answer

ultimately, the election happened, and the locket probably grew to have more sentimentality and maybe even a little utility as they had to keep separate more. but sort of like how the cartier amulette appeared both before the wedding and then when karlie was pregnant during quarantine, jewelry can be bought for one reason and evolve to encompass other reasons, you know? the locket as well is such a huge part of kaylor iconography, and i would think it has meant a lot to them through different seasons of their relationship.

this being said, it’s interesting to think about it’s origins and i like a lot about what your putting into words! the dates make a lot of sense to me.
