The number of times he’d debated telling his bro just what he really was was more than he could count.  He knew that the younger man would follow in his footsteps if he made the offer, but what he wasn’t sure of was whether he’d be able to become what Archie really was.

He’d thought about how he’d come across his own powers.  A deal gone wrong, or maybe terribly right so many years ago.  A single night and then he found himself needing human energy and what it would entail.

Though with the bright moonlight shiny into the base, all he could do was wander to Matt’s room and knock on his door.  “Bro?  I gotta talk t’ye.”  He didn’t want to enter his room uninvited, but instead he was going to let him decide if he wanted to talk.

The entire world was black and white and greys.  It wasn’t like he wasn’t used to it.  Everyone was born that way and everyone stayed that way until they met the one they were destined to meet.  He was starting to feel like the only one whose world was still black and white as college went on, though.  His friends were meeting people and seeing color and he could never understand what was so great about it.

But his third year was one he felt was going to be different.  His first class of the year was one that he was supposed to take when he was a freshman, but never got around to.  Fortunately there were plenty of others like him in the class and he didn’t feel like a total outcast there.  He hadn’t even met his roommate just yet, though.  They’d moved in while he was out and had left for their classes afterwards so the potential for who it could be were limitless.

Looking around the room for a seat, he stopped when he saw a large man sitting in the back.  It was like the world around him was shifted and a strange aura of something else was there.  He moved over to him and sat down, eyes still wide as he did.

Licking his lips he just stared for a moment before speaking.  “Uh, hey there.”  Smooth.  Perfect first words for the meeting.  But he didn’t even care.
