I like to imagine that the Chosen Hero and the Fierce Deity are the same guy, so I wanted to try designing them with that in mind! I've got to try drawing Hylia next.

Her Chosen Hero

Tried something a bit different with this one! Lineless art and block colours rather than shading haha. But also I tried to pack a bunch of symbolism into it too - Link looks out at the viewer instead of at the goddess, because he chose to fight not for her but for his friends.

Hylia is not a living, responsive goddess but is made of stone, unchanging before pleas and bathed in the light of her glory. She is different to mortals, focused on the bigger picture of millennia rather than the comparatively minute suffering of her Hero.

The pillars of her temple and the light of her radiance make a cage, reflecting the Hero's time in prison and also how he is trapped in a destiny he did not choose. His sword drips blood - both of that which he has slain, but also his own, that will finally buy his world peace, but he is also lit by the goddess's light, her favour resting on his shoulders.

......thinking of doing a Skyward Sword companion piece tbh.

Working on a Lu/Loz animatic so here's some frames I particularly like so far

I say it's Linked Universe as well because some of the Link designs are gonna be their LU equivalent

I think I'm going to add my LoZ AU stuff to Artfight next year, grouped by where in the Timeline they appear, and first up is First with Hylia and Fi.

That colorful, barely visible guy behind First is the "average hylian size guy" and will feature in every reference. I know a lot of people like to use feet or cm, but that's not something I particularly enjoy doing. But if that's your jam, the average Hylian in mu AU is about 165cm/5'5".

I'm also gonna include what shape they would take if they ended up in the Dark World, which in First's case is a Red Lion. His hair would probably have the same color as the mane once he turned back.

Now when I think about it, First is probably contemporary to the robots in Skyward Sword, considering Scrapper followed the Hylians into the sky. And a quick duckduck image search shows that there are quite a few aesthetic design similarities between the robots and bronze age art which is really positive for me, considering I want First's era to be largely inspired by the bronze age and earlier. I don't think I'm gonna make a personal redesign of the robots anytime soon, but I might do something with it in the future :)

(Edit: I realized I've given several of my au Links locs, so to get a bigger variety I'm gonna change some of them (incl. First) to have more different hair styles. Like, why limit oneself you know? Anyway, after going through the links in this post I have settled on giving First a 4B hair type which he is wearing loose/free, and I realized the the twisted braids I imagined Hylia having are the Nubian twisted braids so I added that little clarification too.)

Before TOTK but after LU and BOTW

Flora and Wild find a room in the forgotten temple with graves.

His brothers graves. Flora sees that they are all empty but there is statue on top of all of them of the heroes, second before their death. Standing tall, some older than others.

Warriors grave seems to show that his death was mere day after LU ended. He died alone, betrayed.

Sky grave is really weird. His statue look like it’s been stuck in a sandstorm for too long, there is no recognizable features of anything just the vague idea of it

TOTK prologue

Wild find all 3 of FD armour pieces. A voice calls to him in the dept

Arriving there, ( under the exact same spot , but in the dept) he find a man.

It’s sky. His spirit and body have been separated and his spirit sealed in the FD mask.

He dies, in wild arms. Wild bring his corpse to the room in the forgotten temple and place it in his grave.

Wild search the light dragon to find fi. He do find her. Her and all of his brothers corpse who look freshly dead.

Warriors clearly died not long after LU, he is still in the bandage he had after the battle. Wild realize that he look awfully young. He look terrified. Twilight seems to be hugging him, protecting him. Or warriors died on the light dragon, too late to be saved and hid in the arms of his predecessor, the brother he looked up to. The one who never really did gave him any attention, who never realized he was his successor.

Wild… wild used to have a little brother. If he take extra care of warriors corpse, if he hug him close and give him a kiss on the brow, before closing his grave, well… nobody is here to see.

All of his brother safely entombed, even the one he never got to meet, the one who’s story got told but stayed legend and myth and not flesh and bone, laughter and tears,wild continue his adventure.

As he is fighting the ganondragon he get mortally wounded. Fall on the ground, light dragon dive after him. She calls to something someone.

Hylia and link from the skyward sword prequel manga appears from a portal. ( I love him okay) First is mortally wounded. Hylia, who is herself quite diminished having just created skyloft bring ganondragon down. First and wild, the first and last hero, support each other to plant fi in ganondragon stone. Killing him and bringing the end of the cycle.The light dragon take them to the forgotten temple and Hylia follow them.

Arrived there, she make Wild and First a grave. As she prepare to leave the light dragon stop her, she turn around and meet all of the Zelda’s ghost. Sun tell Hylia about her life. About the sweet pain of mortality. That she would choose it all over again. All the Zelda are fiercely protective of their link, the way they were of them.

Tetra is the one to gently push Hylia out of the room, telling her that she has work to do. Hylia goes back in time to start the long cycle of wearing demise power down so that sky can slay him for good and wild and firts destroy his power.

But firstly, she make it so that the heroes statue above their graves look like they are all sleeping, as if they were travelling together again for some and newly for others. With fi in the middle and the Zelda as lookout, they are finally free to rest. The light dragon shall evermore guard their graves.

In the new dawn, Epona rides on. And above, a red loftwing fly higher and higher.
