Observations:
1. Tidus isn’t whiny, he’s just a remarkably honest protag. I really doubt the standard FF Man who came before him (Cloud, Squall, Cecil, Kain, you name em) and his “too cool to worry” attitude would be believable in the slightest in Tidus’ situation. He’s just not shitting around trying to look cool.
2. Rikku says they “thought oui were a fiend”, but what always bothered me about that is, they’re not blind. They can see he’s a dude, not a fiend. So I guess what she meant was, “we thought you were Unsent and about to turn fiend on us”. It'd make sense, given that they just found him in a freezing cold, entirely inhospitable environment. That and Rikku’s aversion to Farplane visits make me think the Al Bhed probably have a general cultural dislike of dead things hanging around. Hmm.
