There was a weird mix of too much free time and no time at all for Amanda; sometimes getting the boys to sit still was impossible, and other times they were calm enough to make her bored. At times like that, it was a great chance to get out the house, both for them and for her. She figured it’d been too long since she surprised her mother with lunch, and after a stop for take away, she pushed the stroller with one hand and held the food in the basket on the back with her other hand all while simultaneously trying to get her three year old to not run off without his hand being held. It wasn’t easy, but they finally made it to her mother’s office, maneuvering the door open with a big smile. “ Surprise, doctor gorgeous!” She grinned, ushering Aiden into the officer before pushing Archer and the stroller inside. Her eyes were off the boy for only a few seconds and on her mother for a greeting. “ I thought it’d been a while, so I got us lun--” and that’s when she heard the thud, Aiden having pulled a bunch of his grandmother’s books to the ground. “ Well that didn't last long.”
