thoughts on If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power:
1 - my very first thought was, “good god that’s a long name.” Compared to Badlands, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, and Manic, at least.
2 - Trent Reznor has been producing a lot of stuff lately, not all of it alternative/industrial. He did a lot of work on Disney’s recent film, Soul, for example. Obviously the snippet has a very industrial sound, but. I’m not getting my hopes up for a full Punksey album yet. I can’t. Not after the relative disappointment that “Nightmare” wasn’t on Manic. I can’t, I’m not strong enough.
3 - betcha 20 dollars that “Nightmare” will be on IICHLIWP, kind of like “Without Me” ended up on Manic.
4 - I snagged the album title and I might be using it as my URL. But it’s a bit weird out of context - any weirder than ‘manic nightmare’ though? lmao.
5 - all of the imagery and even the sound (plus the fact Halsey is about to have a goddamn baby) makes me think this will be a fall/autumn release, not a summer one.
I am SO stoked, I can’t believe we’re embarking on another album cycle again!!
