so I was looking through your game grumps tag and I saw the shovel knight t slur thing and decided to check it out in the video and I think there was a slight misunderstanding cuz while he does say tr*nny technically hes also not in the context. He was smashing two words together (granny Smith apple and trout) and probably didnt realize it would end up being a slur

yeah, but he could have edited it out, and chose not to. good to know that it wasn’t malicious but a trigger warning isn’t a value judgement anyway, it’s just there to warn people

let me be clear that i don’t think that was the right thing for him to do, back in 2015. making that documentary, even if it was meant to be critical of darren wilson, was... not great

You should keep your age in your description. Some minors may be comfortable interacting with a 20 year old adult, but not an adult that's older. It would be respectful of you to at least put a range of maybe three years that your age could fall under if you do not wish to share it explicitly (for example, a 25 year old saying "i'm an adult, 25-27"). That would be a good way to make your blog safe for minors.

This is not going to help keep minors safe from internet predators, it’s just grandstanding and could even potentially be used as a tool by actual predators (who would just lie). If a minor doesn’t want to follow this blog then don’t! I’m not making you! You have to click the follow button! If interacting with an adult makes you uncomfortable, just don’t do it!

Having someone’s age in their blog description isn’t going to tell you if they’re safe to interact with or not.

It makes you sound like a predator when you refuse to disclose your age to minors. Some minors are comfortable following some adults close to them in age range, but not adults who are far from them in age range. You are making yourself sound like a threat to minors when you are so adamantly against sharing your age.

If that’s so, they’re free to unfollow me. Here’s the thing: as a person who isn’t at all interested in children (or anyone tbh), I don’t care if they follow me.

Just to be clear, adults who disclose their age are not automatically safe and it’s a bad idea to suggest that.
