MyEleventhPost: Post D-Day!
First, I would like to reiterate what D-Day (December 8th) was about. Two things were to happen on this day: I take my driver’s skills test and I find out how I did on the November LSAT. I decided that I was going to take the Driver’s skills test and then check my LSAT score just so that I would be able to focus.
Turns out, I couldn’t take the test because apparently my driving school did not send my information to the MVA (Maryland’s DMV) due to some error in the system or whatever. So that was…what it was. On the drive back, I decided to check my LSAT score and well…
I’ll start by saying that I did not reach my goal score. There was definitely an improvement from my previous LSAT score and a huge jump in percentile, but it still wasn’t what I wanted. When I opened the email and saw my score I can’t honestly say that I wasn’t disappointed. But I wasn’t devastated. It was more like an “Aww Man!” than a “My life is over.” In fact, I believe that if I did not have a goal set, I would have been happy/relieved to see my score.
The thing is though, as I was checking the individual sections and how many I got right in each I saw how I greatly improved. I began to reflect on the efforts it took to get there and compare it to how I was doing before and I couldn’t have been more proud of myself. Especially, on the LR section where I got a lot of the tough questions that people on reddit feared correct!
Even though I feel like I have not hit my ceiling and I definitely could do better, I will not be retaking the LSAT for a third time. I made up my mind when I took the November LSAT that this would be the last. Also, I have dedicated officially six months to this test. I think I’ve had enough. For now, I am going to focus on the rest of my application, which is pretty much done with the exception of my personal statement.
For others who took the November LSAT and got their score back I hope you are pleased with it. And if not, better luck next time.
