In their annual "Banished Words" list, the faculty of Lake Superior State University also suggest removing from your vocabulary overused phr

Joining "GOAT" in banishment are nine other words and phrases that nominators and judges complained were used so often that they had become disconnected from their literal meanings – like "amazing," which nominators fretted no longer meant "dazzling" or "awe-inspiring."

"Not everything is amazing; and when you think about it, very little is," one nominator noted.

How sad your life must be if there is very little in your life you find amazing.

I got a student job!

I applied to a few jobs before I make it to campus, as I was awarded a work study. This was the job I was hoping to get! I was contacted the next morning, being offered the job! All within 16 hours of submitting my application. 

I was surprised they didn’t even want an interview! I do have an offer for an interview for another student position, but I’m currently waiting on a response to see if a student is allowed to hold two jobs.

This job at the CFRE is with Outreach and Education, very similar to the job I had at my community college (which had a STEM focus). CFRE works with teaching students (both college and grade school) ways to inspire the community and sustain our Great Lakes.

I’m excited to learn what I’ll be doing with CFRE!
