Good morning and happy Monday Gearheads!! I was sitting there thinking about how the Vandal could use a larger alternator, especially now that it has the dual electric radiator fans. Then I realized that the "LS engine test stand" project has a big daddy Alternator on it. So I did the switcharoo!! The test stand doesn't have a need for the large amperage alternator. So I slapped the larger alternator and longer belt onto the truck and it's good to go! The alternator with a more rounded face at the top of the photo is what came on the Vandal. It's the smallest amperage LS truck alt at 105A. It did the job fine, but I plan to add some electrical strain to the truck. The replacement alternator at bottom is either a 130A or 145A. Working on figuring that out now. Both would have the same larger and flat faced casing, but not sure yet what will identify them from each other. #vandalproject #lstruckalt #lstruckalternator #lstruck #lsalternator #rcsb
