I'm delighted to announce that this illustration has been shortlisted for the Poster Prize for Illustration 2019, a competition organised by The AOI and London Transport Museum.

The theme is 'London Stories' and my illustration is inspired by a story about Jimi Hendrix. It is rumoured that all ring-necked parakeets living in London originate from a pair he released in Carnaby Street in the 1960s.

The artwork will feature in an exhibition at the London Transport Museum, which runs from 8 February until 14 July 2019.

LTMuseum was planning to celebrate their iconic poster collection with a special Open Weekend at their Museum Depot in Acton this weekend.

Due to COVID closures, they’ve taken things online to explore and celebrate their collection of over 5,000 posters.
