13.) What does your character’s bed look like when he/she wakes up? Are the covers off on one side of the bed, are they all curled around a pillow, sprawled everywhere? In what position might they sleep?
Lu’Shin - Lu’Shin has a relatively small cot for a bed, so they don’t have much space to sprawl. They typically go to sleep in a sprawl, but wake up curled up like a tiny kitten. They do the blankets on, blankets off dance all night usually.
When they wake up/leave the bed, they try to make it neatly. Their bedspread is dark red with a gold/light brown floral motif, and their pillow is a soft animal hide of indeterminable species. (I’m now kicking myself for not taking a picture of their sleep-space from the event. Sad trombone.)
Rictus - I have no doubt that Ric either sleeps in armour and remains stock still in the position they fell asleep in when they’re afield... and when they’re at an inn or someplace that has beds, will do the “starfish” to no end. They likely also toss and turn.
The bed probably is a mess, with pillows everywhere.

I’m going to miss a couple of days due to LARP OMG WOOOOOOO ...

12.) How is your character with technology? Super savvy, or way behind the times? Letters or email?
Lu’Shin - This cat is a quick and eager learner, but their pride (and sometimes their Pryde*) often gets in the way. They are mega insecure, and the stories/rumours that everyone tells about them being hot shit often makes it so that they are uneasy about showing what they don’t know more than what they do. To further compound that, they have a huge aversion to “owing” people things, like favours or debts.
So with technology, I could see them being mostly self-taught, but lacking in a lot of fundamental areas. Like knowing basic HTML and webdesign, but being unable to make a working Excel spreadsheet to save their life!
They would be addicted to dollmaking games.
* The Prydemother asserts that the members should seek training from within before going to outside sources. It means they’re a little bit insular, and that Lu’Shin is having trouble accessing the more esoteric skills that they want to learn.
Rictus - Ric would probably be a stubborn hunt-and-peck typist, and would be using Firefox after Eilin’s repeated insistence that they not use IE. They’d be just savvy enough to use it, but not savvy enough to use it well.
They would probably play all sorts of those free games online, and their computer would be riddled with malware.

8.) Day of Favorites! What’s your character’s favorite ice cream flavor? Color? Song? Flower?
Lu’Shin - Ice Cream: Tiger tail. Colour: Dark Red. Song: Cosmic Love - Florence + The Machine Flower: Daisies.
Rictus - Ice cream: Vanilla. Colour: Blue. Song: Stand my Ground - Within Temptation Flower: Clover.

7.) Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?
Lu’Shin - Something that Lu’Shin has been very good at hiding is that they never actually were given, or subsequently completed an Adult Trial. While they have a Place Name (Tahlus), they don’t feel that they have earned it.
And they’re too embarrassed to ask and of the elder men in the pryde to give them one, because they’re mega worried that it will diminish them in the others’ eyes.
So it’s not so much that they would like to erase this, it’s that they would like for there to be something in their past that earned them their position.
Rictus - The cultural environment in Secrets of Magic is rather charged. Humans in the not-so-distant past were enslaved to the monstrous species (Drake Kin, Feyfolken, Ogreborn, etc) and only through the use of their own special kind of magic (Necromancy, woo!) were they able to overthrow their oppressors.
Fast forward to present day, and there’s still a lot of tension and friction between the species.
When they came to town, Rictus was unabashedly speciesist (which is basically racism at this point). They have a casual veneer of jocularity that very quickly dissipates the moment a non-human starts causing trouble.
They’re quickly learning to change, though. There are younger non-humans who have endeared themselves to Ric, but it doesn’t stop the salty human from calling them on shit. The trouble is, it’s mostly hypothetical to them.
They arrived late, and thought that the Drake Kin, Mme. Esmerelda was talking about the hypotheticals of attacking/slaying a Dragonslayer. But it turned out that earlier that day, townsfolk actually DID kill a Dragonslayer.
So the situation went from waxing poetic about how someone can go around claiming they’re a Dragonslayer and how killing them isn’t ethical because they have no way of proving they are unless they’re wearing trophies...
When the law in town marches in and executes a townsmember basically at Ric’s feet, because they were convicted of murder.
They were talking about hypotheticals, and Esmer was talking about literals.
Rictus would have changed their wording to something a bit less brutal if they had known what had actually happened, rather than think people were simply philosophizing in the tavern.
