@lucasmallory
the bar was having a bit of a lull but it wasn’t unexpected. it was around two in the afternoon and most people were still at work. after serving a few day time regulars, she grabbed a beer. “what do you want? it’ll be on me.” arabella grinned at her co-worker as she raised the bottle to her lips.
An Interesting Proposition || Winter & Lucas
Winter was somewhat amused, somewhat confused, but completely excited. In her mind, she’d finally done it, she’d finally broken Lucas, and he was finally inviting her over for a good time. The only problem? When he had texted her, she was out with a friend, not properly dressed for such a meeting. However, there was no doubt in her mind that she could get home, change, and make it to his place in time for the urge to still have hold of him. A quick goodbye to her friend and she was out of the bar she’d been at and on her way back to her place, mind racing through exactly what she should throw on in hopes of having it torn right back off.
She let herself lose track of time as she tried to perfect herself, hair just so, fixing the makeup that had barely made it through the night, a skirt, and a tight, but high-collared shirt. She twisted this way and that in front of her mirror, looking for any error. After all, this was a big deal to her. She’d wanted this far too long, and she had every intention of taking full advantage of it.
It was nearly midnight by the time she realized she needed to actually head over to Luke’s place, if she wanted to catch him before the mood was gone, or before he passed out waiting on her, and as soon as she was out of her apartment and walking down the sidewalk, she was regretting the choice of heels. They were hot, but not practical. She was just glad she hadn’t had too much too drink. She would have hated this night to be a fuzzy one.
12:15 by the time she’d reached his place, and she adjusted her skirt one more time before she quickly checked her breath and slipped her phone into her purse. She considered texting to let him know she was here, but she settled on knocking instead, arms folding across her chest as she waited for the door to open, trying to keep her mind in check. She loved the anticipation, but the wait might have killed her.
