She hadn’t been in for a week. For the first time ever Ruby had called in and told Iris she couldn’t work. Day after day, she called in. The only reason she was even there is because she hadn’t fed since before Raziel was banished and she was just planning on absorbing second hand energy. She couldn’t bring herself to get on stage let alone use a private room for a feeding.  

Ruby rest her head back against the booth as she watched the stage with unfocused eyes. She dozed out and it wasn’t till a body moved into her line of sight that she blinked herself back to reality. “Lucas... hey. Sorry I was...” She shrugged, not sure how to answer. @lucasxpatel​

Ruby was wiping herself down with baby wipes when the door to the dressing room opened. Okay so maybe most people were encouraged to clean up in the bathrooms but it was so much quicker just doing it there, plus the lighting and the mirrors were better. She looked up to see Lucas and gave him a small wave. “Don’t mind me. Just freshening up after my last session. Got a little messy. I wouldn’t go into room three he’s sleeping it off.” She didn’t bring any attention to the fact the only clothes she had on were her heals but then again she had seen the others naked more times than she could count, and covering up was such a pesky mortal thing. “You done or just heading for a break?”

“I’m telling you, this would look really nice on you.” Mordred sang, giving the coat in her hand a little wave, as if the wiggling motion would emphasize her point. It seemed like they were constantly working, so anytime Mordred got the chance to hangout with her coworkers off the clock? She seized it. “Is this the face of someone who would lie to you?”

nils had let leif go when he pointed to a group of friends he recognized, after making sure he knew exactly where to meet up at the end, what numbers to call on the burner phone nils had been able to afford (mostly judah’s and the number for his own cheap phone). with leif off of his hands, nils didn’t exactly find his paranoia lessening any. the crowds made him feel jumpy and overwhelmed and he always ended up seeing flashes of people that weren’t really there, so he stood near the fence. he looked as stoic as ever, even though he was watching every little thing that happened.

and one little thing happened to be that of lucas––formally known as sweet in his head, before scout changed that––carrying a suspicious tub of brownies. “hi there,” he said, off to the side. ( @lucasxpatel​ )

see, nils had told himself he was only wandering into the strip club to inquire about a job––not stripping (too many scars don’t make for a very pretty dancer, in his opinion) but something in the place. how could he help himself if he had a tendency towards seedier places? the dark corners of clubs and bars always felt like a safety blanket, and if he was looking to get anything extra special, it was usually these places he could do it at. playground had a two drink minimum, so he ordered himself two shots to start the night off. he’d walked in on the middle of someone’s dance, a very handsome someone, with long dark hair and good dance moves. never one for shame, nils plopped himself right down, leaning back in the chair to insure he got the best view possible. he didn’t have much, but he at least had a few pounds he could share with the dancer.
