I was recommended that I look into the Brazilian artist Lucia Koch to help me expand my work outside the picture plane. Koch utilizes photographs, video, installation, and architecture to bring to emphasis “overlooked components of environments.” I really appreciate the way Koch approaches the concepts of light, and air. The way Koch expands the picture plane by manipulating elements of atmosphere and color is interesting as it creates a visual environment.
