She’d needed the caffeine. Had even ordered an extra shot of espresso in her desperation to meet the deadline her agent had put in place for her, and it hadn’t been a problem, of course--the little coffee shop was just across the street from her studio.
In her rush, however, she hadn’t noticed the other patron turning, and her much-needed brew was now soaking its scalding path along her white blouse, and Aurora was left in a state somewhere between surprise and alarm, the nearly pained gasp echoing off the side of the bricked building.
“Jesus-!”
