Finally! The hair is done. This took so much time, but it looks great. I'm so glad to be done re-rooting, it's so rewarding to see how thick and lovely it is. I plan to cut and style once I've finished this second face up; no point styling when I have to slick the hair back to do the face. I'd do it tomorrow, but I have school, dentist, and theater so..... yeah, I'm going to be tired. Even so I'm really close to truly finishing her up. I can't wait! Tag: #lucids1stcharecter

Finished the face, my best so far, and I love her expression. Still need to figure out how to really lighten up the eyes, but it's coming along. I've started the wings, and good lord are they hard. I started doing them completely by wire, but that stopped after I cut myself bending the wire (maybe thinner wire next time). I found some methods that involve cutting the base out of poster board and going from there. It's a lot more time consuming, and hurts like hell, but I think it's much more in my abilities. It'll take a while to trim out all the peices, especially as I still have this and next week's school work to do in the next few days, but as I don't have the rest of the materials anyway that should be fine. Haha! The wings are finished! So very much work, so much hand pain, but damn am I proud. They look great and once I get the cellophane they'll look amazeing. Until then it's hair time! Tag: #lucids1stcharecter

School kept me from working too much yesterday, but tonight I finished these. Simple little slippers made from craft foam, ribbon, hot glue, and puffs. They're a bit rough, so I might sand the edges tomorrow; I've had too many sketchy exsperiances in the garage at night to go now. I'll also be working on the dress and any other details I need to do. I'm holding off on the face up because we've got some big costume work planned and they both take up the same critical space. But, I'm hoping to have her all finished by the weekend. So excited. Fixed it! Did quick plastic wings with glitter paint. Once they dry I'll hot glue them to the wire and strap them on tink. They're not anywhere as nice as my first wings, and distinctly not symmetrical, but at this point I can live with that. Next time I'll do.a bit more research. Tag: #lucids1stcharecter

And the fails keep coming! Mucked up and melted the plastic wrong, destroying the wing. I am so mad, but what am I to do? I'll have to make new wings, but I'll do simple ones this time.

Progress is slow but steady, and painful. My fingertips keep going numb for the pressure I have to put down. But I'm pleased and excited. Sadly, the next three days I'll be focusing on school work, and working on these in what little spare time I can scrap togeather. The goal is to finish her up by next Saturday.
