day three: face sitting (lucifer x fem/afab!reader)
my first attempt at lucifer. when the king of hell has you to himself, he intends to appreciate you in every way he can. exactly what it says on the tin. 880 words.
Lucifer watches you lazily from where he lays on the couch, one hand fumbling idly to loosen the bowtie around his neck. His eyes are half-lidded, his jacket gone and a lazy smile grows over his features as his gaze follows your movements around the room. It’s been a long day, but even with him being just as tired as you are, you can feel Lucifer’s eyes on you as you stretch out a kink in your back and shrug out of your jacket.
“Darling?”
“Mmm?” you hum, toeing off your shoes and tossing your jacket aside. God, you need a nap.
“Do something for me?” he says lightly, an affectionate smile touching the edge of his lips.
“Of course,” you reply easily, turning to face him.
“Sit on my face?”
A surprised laugh bubbles out of you, warmth rising in your cheeks and neck. His position on the couch is so casual, relaxed, but there’s a heat in his eyes that makes the beginnings of a shiver settle in the small of your back. “Right now? I’m all gross from today and—”
“Right now,” Lucifer nods, and you feel a pressure against the small of your back as his magic urges you playfully towards him. You bend down to kiss him when you reach his side, and Lucifer leans up eagerly, wrapping his hand around the back of your neck. He kisses you deeply, a soft groan on his lips. “That’s my girl.”
You shimmy out of your underwear without breaking away from his kiss, and you feel Lucifer’s hand skim up the inside of your thigh, sending goosebumps prickling over the sensitive flesh. His hand travels down again and he taps the inside of your knee, urging your legs apart. You hum another laugh as you break away from his mouth, and you dusting another kiss over his brow before doing as he wants and slinging your leg over his face. Lucifer wraps his arms around your thighs before you’re even settled, and you grab hastily at the back and arm of the couch to stop yourself from losing your balance. He tugs you down onto his face and you gasp as you feel his forked tongue lick its way up from your hole to your clit.
“Oh, fuck…” you whine as he circles your clit with his tongue, his fingers digging into the flesh of your thighs with his eagerness. He kisses at your thighs, your cunt, teases his tongue over your clit with fervour. He eats you out like he’s starving, and when he pushes his tongue into your tight, slick warmth you moan aloud. Your fingers find his hair, nails scratching at his scalp before you grab a handful and he groans into your cunt as you pull it. “Luci… uhhnn…”
He finds your clit with his fingers and you keen, back arching. Your head falls back, and the hand not in his hair moves to your chest, grabbing desperately at your breast in an attempt for more, more sensation. Lucifer fucks you with his tongue, groaning into your cunt, using his hold on your thigh to urge you into grinding over his mouth.
“Oh, oh fuck, Lucifer… fuck, I can’t…” you fumble with the ties of your dress and throw it open, unfastening your bra. You clutch at your breast, pinching and rolling your nipple between your fingers. “Fuck!”
You cum with a cry as Lucifer brings his tongue to your clit again. He pushes two fingers into your quaking, dripping cunt, letting you fuck yourself on them as you roll your hips desperately over his face. The forked edge of his tongue makes your eyes roll back, makes your thighs shake around his head. Lucifer curses breathlessly and you feel the sharp points of his teeth graze and sink into the soft, supple flesh of your inner thigh. He kisses the same spot, and as soon as his breath returns to him he’s rolling his tongue against your cunt again.
Lucifer feasts on you like this until there are tears staining your cheeks and you’re begging him to stop, collapsed to the side against the back of the couch. Your fingers ache from how hard you grip at it, every swipe of his tongue making you shudder and jerk over him.
“Pl-please, Luci… I can’t… I can’t keep… fuck, I…”
“Just one more,” he begs, breath hot against your soaking flesh. “I wanna taste you one more… please, baby…”
“I…” you choke out, voice leaving you in a sob. “I can’t… keep…”
He has the audacity to sigh, and he laughs when you jump at the way his breath tickles against your over sensitized flesh. He squeezes your ass for a moment before he lets you go, helping you off of him. When you try to stand your legs collapse, and Lucifer manages to catch you before you can fall. He pulls you into his arms, hooking an arm under your knees to hold you in a bridal lift. He kisses the tip of your nose, then your mouth. “You did such a good job for me, baby. Now, let’s get you to bed.”
You giggle, kissing him back. You’re still shuddering, your breathing unsteady. “I thought you’d never ask.”

You're supposed to meet with Castiel, but you notice something different about him. Doesn't help that you're an angel who secretly has a thing for him… and an even bigger thing for the devil.
🔗 read on ao3 or read here ⬇️
The familiar sound of wings fluttering behind you indicated that Castiel was here.
He'd been telling angel radio about this plan he had to defeat Amara, and it seemed as though you were the only one who sensed something was wrong. After you called for him, you only became more sure of it. You couldn't quite place your finger on it, but Castiel didn't seem like himself.
"Castiel," you said, turning around. "You said something about a plan to defeat Amara?"
"A plan?" He chuckles lowly, staring you down intensely. That was normal for Castiel - but the laugh definitely wasn't. Something was off. "He's already done it. He let me in."
Your eyes widen as you realise the truth. "Lucifer," you whisper in disbelief.
"Bingo," he grins. "Pretty smart for an angel. Unlike your little friend here."
Your eyebrows furrow as you look up at him. "Castiel's a good soldier," you say, and something stirs in your chest as he looks at you pityingly. Frustration? Something else, perhaps? "He only would have let you in because he believed it to be the right thing."
Lucifer shrugged, irritating as ever. "The right thing, the desperate thing, who's to say?" he scoffs, looking you up and down as he appears to be listening to something. Then he smirks. "My, my. Your buddy here's having some thoughts."
You tilt your head in curiosity. "Thoughts? About what?"
"Mainly he regrets allowing me to possess him," he laughs. "Always a classic. But also about you."
"Me?" You look at him incredulously. "And what would those be?"
Lucifer laughs harder, and you don't understand what was so damn funny.
"See, he has this weakness," Lucifer said. "He likes you."
You nod, like it was obvious. "Yes, that's established. He likes me, he likes the Winchesters…"
"Oh, not in the same way, oh no," he laughs. "Unless he also wants to screw them."
You look away from him, wondering if it was really possible. "He wants… that? With me?" you ask quietly, shocked.
"Oh yes," he said. "He wants it so bad. Almost makes me feel bad for the poor sap. He's in there," he pointed to his head. "Not out here. He can't get to you, he can't touch you. But me…" he suddenly moves closer, barely a few inches between the two of you, and puts his hands on your waist, ever so delicate, slightly dangerous. "I just have to do this to torture him with jealousy. So easy."
You inhale sharply at the touch, not moving a muscle. Angels didn't often, if ever, touch each other. But you reminded yourself, this wasn't an angel, this was Lucifer. But it looked, felt almost like Castiel. You could imagine it was him. But why was part of you already into this?
"What… what's he thinking?" you ask, looking up at him with your angelic, innocent eyes.
Lucifer chuckles. "Oh, he's jealous, all right. Quite feisty and possessive he is, for an angel." He leans in closer, one of his hands tightening its grip on your waist while the other cups your cheek. "He thinks you're beautiful." He rolls his eyes. "Fucking sap."
You face heats up, and you can't tell if it's because of the words or his touch. But then he grins at you, as if reading your thoughts. "Something tells me you're enjoying making your little friend jealous."
You look up sharply, shaking your head, hoping Castiel wasn't too upset with you. "No, that's not it," you say quickly.
"Well, it's either that or you just like that I'm touching you like this in your friend's body." As if to emphasise his point, he squeezes your waist harder, leaning in so your foreheads were touching. Now every time he breathed out you could feel it against your lips, and your eyes flutter shut.
"Do you like it, angel?" Lucifer asked you again, his voice so quiet you could barely hear. When you eventually nod, slowly, he sighs in content, the hand on your waist dipping lower until it was cupping your ass, and your breath hitches at the suggestive touch.
"So naughty," he teased. "An angel wanting to be touched like this by the devil." The words send a shot of heat down your spine as you feel them against your lips. You can't take it anymore. You need him. But you'd rather go to the Empty than admit it.
"It's only because you look like Castiel," you whisper, and you gasp against him as he presses a kiss on your lips, gentle and featherlight. He pulls away all too fast.
"Is it now? I might look like him, but you know it's me," he grinned mischievously. "You want me to do all sorts of dirty things to you. I can practically hear your thoughts."
You shudder, and you have no idea if that's even true or not, but that doesn't matter. Because you know he's right.
"Does he want this too?" you ask, and he smiles.
"He's getting desperate for it," he said. "Started off jealous until he knew you wanted him too. Now he's begging me to get my hands on you."
You look him straight in the eye. "Then do it."
Something inside him snaps. He propels forward and kisses you, hard.
You let out a muffled whine against his lips, and feel his hands roaming all over you. Your chest, your waist, your ass. It's like it was his way of saying mine, mine, mine. You writhe against his touch, the growing heat pooling in your lower belly.
"He wants me," Lucifer pants in between kisses, "to fuck you against the wall."
You can't help moaning against his lips, nodding. He smirks as he kisses you deeper, backing you up until you were pinned against the wall, every inch of his body pressed against yours. You shiver as you feel him hard against his slacks, unable to hold back from grinding against him, the pressure against your clothed clit bringing you intense relief.
"Oh, look at you," Lucifer tutted. "So desperate already, little angel." He dry humps you against the wall, letting you feel how hard he is, and you moan and rock back against him, desperate as he said you were. You hated that he was right. You hated how wet it was making you, too.
"Castiel's losing it right now," he whispers to you dirtily. "Wants to fuck you so bad. Thinks you're making such pretty noises. Wants to start getting some clothes off."
Fuck. You have to hold back from coming right then and there just at the suggestion, and you collide back against his lips as his hands roam against the waistband of your pants, wasting no time in removing them, along with your soaked underwear. You turn pink as he chuckles at the sight. "So wet already, aren't you?"
"Shut up," you mumble. "This… vessel. It reacts very strongly," you said quickly, but both of you knew it was just an excuse. He shakes his head, scoffing as he circles a finger on your swollen clit, the other teasing your dripping entrance. He grins when you throw your head back as he finally gets his finger in, then another.
"This isn't just your vessel. It's you," he says lowly. "You're wet because of me."
You bite your lip, refusing to say it. Lucifer so generously adds another finger, both of you marvelling at how easily they slide in. He moans, and you watch as he reaches his other hand down to free his hard cock from his slacks, stroking himself as he fingers you. You can't help but writhe against his fingers.
"He wants it. Wants it right now," he pants as he fucks his fist lightly, his other hand fingering you with ease. "I can hear him begging for it. Practically screaming."
You were just as bad as Castiel was. You were seconds away from begging for it as well. "Do it. I'm ready."
He gives a surprised laugh, not expecting you to be so forward. "Well, look who's so eager to get fucked," he says dirtily, and you whimper quietly in embarrassment. The whimper turns into a loud moan as he pushes inside. You curse internally. Of course Lucifer - well, Lucifer inside Castiel - is big. But it's nothing you can't handle.
Lucifer's breathless as he bottoms out, and looks positively blissful. He starts moving, and you fall against his lips as he fucks you.
It's rough, fast, everything you expected from fucking the devil. But he looked like Castiel, the seemingly innocent angel you had a crush on, now confident, cocky and dirty as all hell. You grip tightly onto his shoulders, no doubt leaving marks on Castiel's skin, and he moans lowly against you as he fucks harder.
"Never felt so good to corrupt such a sweet, innocent angel," he taunts, staring at you intensely as he moves inside you. "Fuck, we're breaking so many rules right now."
The thought ordinarily would have sent you into a worried spiral, but not today. You were so high off the sensations, the feeling of getting to fuck the devil that you couldn't care less at the moment. And, you couldn't lie, something about the forbidden element of it all made your clit throb. Things that felt so wrong had a way of doing that.
Lucifer hoists your thighs up further to get a deeper angle inside you, and the both of you moan against each other loudly. The pace becomes relentless, before he's hungrily whispering in your ear, reaching down to touch your clit as he thrusts.
"Gonna come inside you, sweetheart," he said, despite himself. However, he's quick to get all… Lucifer about it. "Gonna fucking mark you. Might even knock you up, imagine that. Fucked so good I put my baby in you. We'd break so many rules. Get in so much trouble."
That wasn't something you even knew you were into, and it had you fucking back against his cock and fingers with fervour. "Lucifer," you moan loudly as you move against him, and he kisses you hard as both your movements grow erratic. "Do it, ruin me," you beg. "Fuck your baby into me."
Those were the dirtiest words that'd ever fallen from your lips. Lucifer practically growls against you, hips stuttering as he comes inside you, filling you up. It's all that it takes to have you spasming against his cock shortly after, breathless as you come harder than you've ever done in your life. Both of you pant against each other for a few moments, slumping against the wall as you catch your breath.
"That was…" he sighs, seemingly fucked out. It was a strange sight to have of the literal devil. "There aren't words."
You hum in agreement, and you detach from the wall, both of you dressing back up. "And did Castiel like it?"
Lucifer grins. "A lot," he says. "He was so loud the entire time. Almost couldn't hear your pretty noises."
You can't help but grin back, shaking your head. "So, any chance you'll give him back his body?" you asked, curious. He just laughs at you.
"No chance," he says. "Not yet, anyway. I'll need it the next time I fuck you." He winks, and with that, you hear a flutter of wings and he's gone in a flash.
Your spent clit throbs in your underwear at the thought.

With your hands deep in the pockets of your jacket, your face buried in a thin scarf, and the warmth of your breath that was soaking into it, it was making you shiver, and your thoughts were thrown back to the ritual of smoking a cigarette. The need to smoke bit into you; thinking of lighting one was still addictive and punishing at the same time. It had been years since you quit smoking, right before you got married to your husband, because he had always hated the smell. Still, your husband was behind you and always had your back regarding your decision to turn your life around, and he became a shoulder to lean on in the change from a reckless young adult into a now responsible and mature woman.
But lately, this routine that you once liked so much seemed to turn into a cage with no way out. The fights with your husband had become more frequent, and his constant work stress added more to the high tension between the two of you. You both were too tired to talk openly to each other anymore and with the same empathy that used to exist. Last night was pretty much no different. A silent dinner, a few short words exchanged between the two of you, and some annoyed glances at each other, until he then got up and went to his laptop in the living room, while you went to the bedroom to read one of your books.
It was days like this, where you felt overwhelmed by your life, that your mind began to wander back to him, to Lucifer Morningstar. You had left Los Angeles almost ten years ago to chase your dreams, leaving him and everything else behind after you came to the realization that it felt more like a simple friendship to you, which had scared you more than it should have. Although you had kept in touch by texting each other every now and then, you hadn't talked to or seen each other in years.
The sun was now setting as you got into your car, and you knew that the decision to visit the City of Angels once again came from some deep, restless part inside of you, and you convinced yourself it wouldn't be a mistake before sliding off your wedding ring and letting it fall into one of your pockets.
Suddenly, a message from your husband appeared on your phone. Apparently, he won’t be home for dinner tonight. He was staying out late with a colleague. Relief washed over you as you replied with an excuse about having decided that you were going out with your best friends anyway before you set the car in motion and headed towards Los Angeles.
A few hours later, you saw the familiar evening lights of what you once called home. You aimed for the LUX, the spot that Lucifer owned. Soon enough, your eyes scanned the room, looking for the one person you hoped to see as you exchanged a few words with familiar faces, but your mind was solely focused on Lucifer.
And there he was. The presence of him hit you hard—the lights, the music... It was overwhelming, and you quickly made your way to the bar, where you sat down. The face beside you? Familiar. She hadn't changed a bit, still looking fierce and gorgeous.
Maze immediately looked at you, recognizing you quickly. "There's no way... is it? Is it really you?"
"Hello, Maze," you said, nodding in her direction and smiling at her.
"It’s been a while! Ten years?"
"Close enough."
She whistled. "Lucifer’s going to freak out when he sees you; you know that, right?"
You smiled again, taking a sip of the drink that she handed you. "Where is he now?"
"I don't know. Probably around somewhere and probably smoking."
Your heart raced as you tried to control your excitement and nervousness. You sipped your drink further, trying your hardest to distract yourself. Then the door opened, and you felt that familiar presence. The smell of cigarettes and cologne hit you, making you grip your glass tighter.
"Now, look who’s graced us with his divine presence," Maze announced almost sarcastically.
You turned around, and there he was—Lucifer Morningstar. His eyes met yours with shock before he tried to hide it like usual. He wore his trademark suit, the one that always made him look like he owned the world.
"What in the world are you doing here?"
"Hello, Lucifer. Have you lost your manners in the last decade?"
"I just didn’t expect you."
"You didn’t have to. I just stopped by."
Lucifer only grunted and sat down next to you for a moment, his eyes never leaving yours. He took a whiskey Maze handed him and sipped it, his silence speaking volumes.
"I just needed to get away, you know," you started, but trailed off, knowing he would see right through you.
"Finish your drink. I don’t want to talk here."
You nodded, finishing your drink quickly. Lucifer was tapping the counter impatiently, and Maze gave you a knowing look as you left. "Good luck, babe," she mouthed, winking at you.
You followed Lucifer into the elevator and then to the parking lot. Right now, his attitude annoyed you, since he used to be so different with you back then, and as soon as you were outside, he stopped and turned around to you.
"Where's your car? I will hold the door open for you."
"What? Excuse me, please? What did you just say?"
He only smirked slightly instead of answering you as he pulled out a pack of cigarettes. So you approached him slowly, placing a hand on his arm and feeling his muscles through his suit.
"I just thought you might want to see me again," you said softly, looking down to the ground.
"Do you think I’m not happy to see you?"
"The way you’re reacting right now, wanting me to get into my car and leave? No, not exactly."
"I just didn’t expect to see you again in LA. You simply surprised me."
You continued holding his arm, squeezing it a bit. "I simply missed you. Is it that wrong?"
"Your fault," he mumbled, finally lighting a cigarette. He took a drag and offered it to you. "Want one?"
"No, I quit years ago, don't you remember?"
He raised an eyebrow. "And do you still always do what your boyfriend wants? Do you follow his rules? Do you obey him?"
"Don’t be an asshole, Lucifer. It’s just complicated, okay?"
He handed you the cigarette anyway, and with a sigh, you took a drag. He leaned against your car, looking out over the city. The lights of Los Angeles twinkled like a thousand little stars.
"You’ve changed," he said after a minute, watching you from the corner of his eyes.
"I never changed. I grew only up."
"No, you’ve changed."
"I’m still me, just... older."
You stood in silence. Lucifer had always been a man of few words around you, but he said so much merely by being there.
"Why didn’t he come with you?" he suddenly asked, breaking the silence.
"He’s busy, working on a case."
"How did you end up with a lawyer, I wonder?"
"If you knew him, you’d understand. He’s dedicated, passionate, even."
"He took you away."
"I know. And that wasn’t my intention."
"Aren’t you here to find yourself again?" Lucifer asked, looking at you for a moment.
"No…"
"Then why? Tell me."
"I'm here because of you, Lucifer. I needed to talk. To feel at home again."
"You can't just show up out of nowhere and expect everything to be the same as it was before."
"I did it without thinking."
"You, who plans everything down to the last detail, doing something spontaneous?"
"I just wanted to see my best friend again."
But Lucifer was right, and you knew it. It was strange to be back in Los Angeles without having really thought about it or thought of any consequences. But the feeling you had in your soul blurred every logical thought.
He suddenly grabbed your hand and walked you toward his car.
"What are you doing? Where are we going?" You asked, but didn't fight him.
"It's a surprise. Just wait and see."
"A surprise? What's the plan?"
"Be quiet and sit tight." Lucifer grinned as he started the car.
After the silent ride in the car, you reached the outskirts of a familiar area, where he soon led you through a wrought-iron gate to a small, charming house with a great view of a lake. The very first things that caught your eye were a marble kitchenette and a leather sofa facing a TV that was mounted on the wall, but most especially so, the floor-to-ceiling window leading out to a terrace and the lake that looked nearly as big as the house itself.
"Is this a new place of yours?" you asked him.
"Yes, indeed, it is," Lucifer confirmed with pride. "But that is not the actual surprise. Follow me." He guided you out onto the terrace. "It's a little dark already, but can you recognize the view? Do you remember it?"
You furrowed your brow, following his gaze, and gasped as you finally realized and remembered. "Is this the place that I think it is?"
"Yes, the very spot where we spent that beautiful evening," Lucifer confirmed. "I simply thought you might appreciate the nostalgia and that I bought this place in the end."
"But how did you manage to rebuild all this?" you asked, quite overwhelmed.
"Hard work and a bit of devilish charm," he teased, turning to face you and smirking at your reaction.
You remembered that night clearly—with just Lucifer and yourself—when you were talking about your dreams and your future under the starry sky.
"This is incredible! I'm so happy for you, Lucifer," you admitted, though tears were forming in your eyes.
"You're happy for me because I bought this place?" Lucifer's eyes softened, searching for yours while he asked. "Then why do I think there's more to it than that? More than simple happiness?"
You turned away from him, blinking back tears. "Forget about it. I'm sorry; I didn't want to ruin your surprise."
Lucifer closed the distance between you quickly; his face was serious but still calm and composed. "Will you tell me why you really left back then? I don't really believe that your boyfriend could hold that much power to rip you away from everything that was so loved by you."
"You know exactly why I left," you finally said, looking at him again.
"Sure... Of course, I do. Because I always do." Lucifer answered with disappointment in his voice.
You nodded slowly, biting down on your lower lip, unsure how to proceed. "I think that I probably should go home," you whispered, the guilt creeping in, just wanting to drive back home to your apartment and forget about everything.
But Lucifer clenched his fists. "Perhaps you should, yes," he agreed reluctantly, taking a step closer to you. "But not before this," he mumbled, closing the distance between your lips.
Lucifer crashed his lips onto yours, pushing you back against the patio door. There was no denying at this point—this was so much more than just a friendly reunion. It was bringing back to life a love where the flame had never actually gone out.
He broke away slightly as he led you back into the house, his hands removing your jacket, and soon enough Lucifer loomed over you inside his bedroom, his eyes searching yours for permission and reassurance. You nodded, and he kissed you again—deeply and almost desperately.
His hands were touching your body as his lips nuzzled kisses down your neck, and you could feel your body arch into him, begging for more, which was enough for the two of you to quickly get rid of each other's clothes.
"I can't wait any longer," Lucifer confessed, his eyes locked with yours.
You met his gaze, your heart racing as you nodded, and he smiled, slowly guiding you onto the bed. His touch was almost soft as he positioned you beneath him.
For a moment, Lucifer looked at you, mumbling, "You are more beautiful than ever."
You blushed, goosebumps creeping onto your skin as his fingertips brushed along your collarbone and slowly down your arm until he kissed the inside of your wrist delicately.
"You're exquisite," he said softly before his lips traveled up your arm again, across your shoulder, and onto the curve of your neck.
He kissed your forehead, then your cheek, before his lips finally kissed your own. His mouth moved slowly against yours, listening to each sigh that came out of your mouth. You reached for his arms, bringing his hands to your tits, where his fingers gently squeezed them, his thumbs lightly stroking your sensitive nipples and feeling them harden.
Once done, Lucifer's hands went down to your waist, pulling you up to straddle him. He slowly lowered you down onto his cock and pushed himself into you. His eyes didn't leave yours as he moved in very slowly, filling you up completely.
"You feel incredible," he groaned, his hands holding your hips tightly. "I've wanted this for so long."
You began moving, your body slowly going up and down as you leaned forward just a little bit with your hands on his shoulders for balance as you were riding him, and Lucifer's hands slid up your back until he pulled you close, burying his face in your neck.
"You're so perfect," he murmured. "Every part of you is."
You shivered at his words and moaned softly as his hands now moved down to your stomach from your breasts, then back to your thighs, and though the moments were stretching on, Lucifer's thrusts were still gentle instead of fast and rough.
"You're simply amazing," he whispered in your ear. "I want to make you feel everything."
His words only heightened your lust, and you rode him even more eagerly until both of you were breathless, wanting more.
But Lucifer's eyes stayed on your face. "I wish this would last forever," he whispered.
You moaned again and closed your eyes, your body quickening in time with his upward thrusts as you both felt your approaching orgasm.
His thrusts grew urgent, his hands gripping you a little bit harder to guide you through the final moments before you came, and Lucifer's body shuddered against yours.
As soon as your orgasms began to subside, Lucifer's thrusts did likewise. He embraced you tightly, stroking your back, and kissed your forehead softly. "I have missed you more than you know."
You clung to him, your racing heart only now starting to slow down. "I've missed you too," you whispered, your voice shaking, before tensing up as a certain thought inside your head started to form itself, your eyes narrowing.
"Protection! I... I didn't think of—" You started, but your words seemed to be stuck in your throat. "I'm sorry, Lucifer. I should have been more careful!"
"Don't worry about it right now, my dear. Focus only on us. and this moment," he simply answered without any care, but you ignored his words, and just then your eyes fell on something that lay on the ground beside your clothes; his eyes followed in the same direction—your wedding ring, which you had left carelessly in one of your pockets. His eyes went from that ring to you, and only then did he realize what was actually on your mind.
"Wait, wait, wait," he whispered quietly, furrowing his brow as he pushed you off, got up, and picked up the ring slowly from the floor. "You... you're married to him? What? You're actually still with him? Are you kidding me?"
Your face went pale, and you couldn't deny the truth, nor was there any reason to try to lie to him. "Yes, I am, but—"
"But what!" He cut you off. "Is this some kind of devil's bargain? Did you come here to light up an old flame, all the while you're still wearing another man's ring? Is this some kind of sick joke to you?"
"No, no! Listen, Lucifer! Listen to me! I didn't come here to hurt you," you tried to explain, your voice breaking. "I came because I missed you and—"
"Missed me?" He laughed out loud and shook his head. "You come back into my life, get me all worked up, and then this? Oh, how the mighty have fallen. I must be quite the fool for thinking that you actually came back for me after ten years. How foolish I am, indeed."
"Listen! You don't understand! Just calm down and listen to me, please!" you pleaded, your face now red with tears that started to roll down your cheeks. "I never meant for this to happen! You know that! It just happened!"
"Never meant for it to happen?" Lucifer scoffed, anger suddenly giving way to a mocking laugh. "Oh, please, my dear. You do think this is some kind of joke, don't you? Did you come back just to test my patience?"
He turned away from you—his hurt was obvious as he threw your wedding ring across his bedroom. "How very amusing," he said bitterly. "A married woman who seeks out the Devil."
You reached out to him, your voice desperate, but he didn't let you touch him anymore. "Please, Lucifer, don't be like this. I never wanted to hurt you, I promise!"
He turned toward you again. "Don't be like this, you say? What did you expect? Should I just take this as some cruel joke of, what, fate? You think I should simply forgive and forget just because you come at me with a few tears and your excuses?
He had picked up a cigarette from the package lying on the side table of the bed and grabbed a lighter. "Here's a solution for you," he said, lighting the cigarette. "Why don't you go back home to your husband? I'm sure he's just waiting for you to come crawling back into his arms, so you can do what he wants some more."
You winced at the mockery and sarcastic tone in his voice. "Lucifer, please don't—"
"Don't what?" he interrupted you again. "What is it, huh? Don't you want me to remind you of the mistake you've just made? Don't make you face the reality of your actions? Of our... situation?"
He took another drag from the cigarette. "How amusing," he said bitterly. "I've spent most of my time in Hell, and with you, I finally got a taste of Heaven again, only to have it taken away from me in an instant..."
He flicked the cigarette into an ashtray, letting it go out by itself as it continued to burn down. "I'm supposed to be the Devil," he said, his lips now showing a rather sad and hurt smile. "But right now, I feel like I am the biggest fool in all of creation there ever was..."
The silence fell between you, and there, in his eyes, was only hurt, pain, and pure anger.
"I'm so sorry for everything, Lucifer. I never wanted to hurt you, really! Just believe me! Please!" You pleaded and begged.
He sat down at the edge of the bed, his anger now replaced by sadness, especially given the look on his face. "So, now what?" he asked. "What do you think happens to us after all this?"
"I don't know," you said, your voice trembling as you took a deep breath. "I wish things could be different, but they aren't. Believe me, I know this was wrong. I was wrong."
Lucifer took a deep breath as well to try to relax himself and calm down. "Well, wishing won't do anything, nor will prayers," he said, getting to his feet. "And if you want me to be completely honest, then I think you should leave."
You realized you were feeling regret—this was the end of what could have been all along, what could've been all those years ago. "I'm so sorry, Lucifer," you said again, through the tears that were now streaming down your face. "I wish there was a way..."
He smiled at you sadly and shrugged, handing you your clothes. "Here's to the past," he said bitterly. "May it stay there."
You took them from him, brushing your fingers across his while doing so, and began dressing quickly. "Goodbye, Lucifer," you said softly, your voice cracking again.
"Goodbye," he replied as his eyes watched you walk towards the door and into the living room. The taxi was called quickly, and you turned to go out of the front door, but you stopped for a second, turning around to the bedroom door again that he was about to close. "Go on and don't keep the taxi driver waiting."
After he closed the door, you quickly grabbed a piece of paper and scribbled a note, tears falling onto the paper and smudging the ink. You left it on the coffee table and stormed out, slamming the door shut behind you. The street was already dark, with only a few lights on each side of the road, and you quickened your pace to the main road. After a few minutes, you could finally see the approaching lights of a taxi.
The taxi driver soon enough returned you to your car, which was still parked in the LUX. Once inside your car, you glanced at the time, which was approaching midnight, and then you noticed the three messages from your husband and some missed calls from him that you quickly opened nervously.
9:42 PM: "Where are you? I'm back, and you're not here."
10:39 PM: "When are you coming back? Why don’t you answer? I’m worried."
11:16 PM: "I called your friends, but they said you weren't even with them tonight. What's going on? Please call me!"
Tears silently rolled down your face again as guilt consumed you. How had things gone so wrong? Your life had been perfect—or so you thought all the time. You’d spent the last ten years forgetting about your feelings for Lucifer, pushing them aside, and now, in one evening, you’d destroyed everything.
With trembling fingers, you tried calling your husband, but there was no answer. The worst part of this whole mess wasn’t just that you’d probably destroyed your life, but how little you’d considered the consequences of your actions with Lucifer in the first place. If karma were real, you thought, you’d crash while driving back home. But two hours later, you found yourself standing in the parking lot of your apartment again.
Entering it quietly and closing the door behind you, you saw your husband asleep on the big couch in your living room, his mobile phone still next to him. With one hand, you covered your mouth to stifle a sob, not wanting to wake him up, and you paused, uncertain of what to do, then slowly removed your jacket, throwing it over a chair, and decided to lay down beside him.
You couldn't help but remember how you both had always been a great team, at least at the start of your relationship back then, facing the darkest moments and hours together and supporting each other through thick and thin. He’d always been there for you; maybe he's been too distant at times, but he's been there nonetheless.
And now your endless thoughts about your mistake kept you awake until exhaustion finally took over. Later, when you woke up, your husband was gone. You hoped it had all been a bad nightmare, but the note on the table proved otherwise:
"When I get back from work, you tell me what the hell happened! And don’t even try to call me today! We'll sit down and talk in person."
You stared at the note, rereading it several times before crumpling it and throwing it on the floor in frustration. You grabbed your coat and left, not even bothering to look in the mirror. At the pharmacy, you were quick, buying what you needed before heading back home. Once sitting down on the couch, staring at the morning-after pill on the table, you knew you should take it right away, but something inside you held you back.
Your eyes kept wandering around, seeking distraction, but just as you were about to scream, the doorbell rang, making you jump. You tried to calm yourself before opening the door, but it wasn’t your husband who you thought might have left his keys behind. Standing there was Lucifer, who decided to step inside your apartment without even waiting for an invitation.
"What in the world are you doing here?" you asked, staring at him while closing the front door.
Lucifer pulled a crumpled note from his pocket—the note you had left for him. "Why do I have to read such nonsense?"
He held up the note before reading it out loud.
"Lucifer, the heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I wish I could."
"Lucifer," you began, but he cut you off.
"Well, isn’t this poetic? The Book of Jeremiah—17:9 to be exact!" His voice sounded neutral, but you could see the fire in his eyes. "I guess the Devil isn’t the only one who’s capable of deceit, isn't he? How charming that you choose to repent now, but I’m afraid it won’t absolve you of the choices you made, my dear... I do admire your attempt at biblical drama! Quite charming, isn't it?"
Your hands were now sweaty, and your heart pounded so fast that you thought it was going to explode. "Lucifer, please..." You managed to whisper, but he shook his head.
"I suppose that’s the true nature of humans, isn’t it? Always seeking redemption when it suits them." His voice relaxed slightly, but the intensity behind it remained, and only then did he grab something from his pocket again. It was your wedding ring. "I’m not a priest, my dear. You know exactly who I am, and I won’t be so easily fooled by your attempts at repentance. I'd say that you owe me more than that."
You had barely started to open your mouth when the sound of keys at the door made you turn around in shock. You looked over just in time to see your husband standing there, his face full of anger and surprise at the same time.
"What the hell is that man doing here?" he asked, staring at you.
"Listen! It's not what you think," you started, but your voice cracked, unable to find the right words to even explain yourself.
Meanwhile, Lucifer gave him an almost bored look and crossed his arms over his chest. "Ah, the husband has finally arrived! How very delightful," he said. "I'm Lucifer, and you must've forgotten about me, I see!"
Your husband glared at him. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Well, I certainly wasn't expecting to be welcomed with open arms by the man of the hour. But then again, I've never been one to shy away from a bit of chaos."
You took a deep breath, trying to get a grip on the situation. "Listen, we need to talk..."
But your husband's eyes were still on Lucifer, looking him up and down. "About what? How obviously you have been cheating on me?"
You winced at the accusation, but Lucifer merely laughed. "Cheating? Now, that's a rather strong word. I prefer to think of it as rekindling old flames."
Your husband's hands clenched into fists, and he let out a scoff. "You! You have no right to be here. Leave. Now."
Lucifer's eyes narrowed, and for a slight moment, he revealed what really lay beneath. "How quaint! I assure you, I'm only a catalyst. Or, let's just say, the devil's advocate, if you will."
Your husband took a step back, his face turning pale for a second. "What the fuck are you trying to pull here, huh?"
Lucifer stepped closer to him, his smile turning into a grin as he pointed to the pill on the table in the living room, which he had noticed all along. "That little token of affection over there might reveal more with its symbolism than you may realize."
The eyes of your husband went to the pill on the table and then back to Lucifer. "What... what do you mean? What the hell are you even talking about?"
Lucifer's smile widened as he leaned forward. "Why don't you take a guess? Or maybe you would prefer to leave it to your imagination?"
"My imagination? You're obviously fucking my wife, and now you are standing here like you have some right to her? As if you own her?"
Lucifer let out a dramatic sigh. "Well, I suppose you could say I am more of an old flame to your dear wife. But let's not get down to the boring details."
Suddenly, your husband stepped forward, his anger overflowing. "Get out of my house. Now!"
"Oh, such a fiery temper. Are you sure you're not harboring a bit of Hellfire yourself?" Lucifer said sarcastically and threw his hands dramatically in the air.
The eyes of your husband widened again, and he took a step back as soon as he could while he looked into his eyes. "I'm warning you. Just leave..."
Lucifer's eyes changed, his stare reaching deep into your husband's soul. "And I assure you that I'm not someone that you want to provoke."
He took a step closer, and your husband's confidence broke down as he looked him in the eyes. "You know what? I'm done with this. I'm leaving! Don't you dare touch me, whatever the hell you are!"
Lucifer's eyes followed him, and he smirked proudly. "As you wish."
The apartment was almost completely silent as the door slammed shut behind your husband, and you stood there, paralyzed, the realization of that moment and what had just happened finally setting in, but Lucifer snapped you out of it as he looked at the morning-after pill on the table once again.
"My dear, really? Do you think that this pill is going to undo what's done now?" Lucifer started. "Do you actually believe that some sort of pill will stop something divine, like... Oh, I don't know, my touch, as an example? I'm afraid it doesn't work that way, darling."
You looked at him with shame, lust, and regret in your eyes. "What now?" You asked him, whispering silently.
"What happens now will be entirely your choice," he said, moving closer to you and stretching out his hand to touch your cheek. "You see, I very much adore you, and I have for quite a while."
His hands were soft but strong, and a shiver ran down your spine. "You can either act like nothing happened, or maybe you can accept it and see where it takes you," he said, his eyes locked on yours. "You've got a choice to make."
He stepped closer, his lips touching your ear as he spoke. "You could try to forget about the night we just had, but you and I both know better. The seed has been sown, and the question is, at this point, whether you'll let it grow."
Lucifer took a few steps back and pushed the front door open, just enough to fit through. "Whatever you choose, I will be here, waiting. And trust me," he said with a smirk, "I have all the time in the world."
I was wondering if you could do a Lucifer x fem!Reader request?
As a plot, reader is an Angel, one who got pushed from heaven, getting betrayed with fake lies and relationships. She is in Lucifers club LUX, hiding her Angel wings and disguising, her hair covering the scars. Lucifer finds interest in her, after seeing her dancing, her aura, wanting her, giving him a feeling of the purity she has, or the mischief eating at it, giving him a possession feeling, protectiveness. After talking and convincing, lucifer and her get closer, he figures out her Angel secret, and stuff gets ‘heated’, could be in both ways.
(I don’t mean for the plot to sound cringy, I just like to give some details or ideas)
Please do take this into your own creative direction if you’d like, the tags could be smut, fluff, and or angst. Thank you so much!

The club pulsed with life, the bass vibrating beneath your feet as bodies swayed under neon lights. The air was thick with a scent unfamiliar yet intoxicating—alcohol, desire, indulgence. It was overwhelming, but you had to blend in. You had to try.
Slipping through the crowd, you kept your head low, letting your hair cascade down your back to cover the scars where your wings once rested. The phantom ache lingered, a cruel reminder of what you had lost. This world was foreign to you—loud, unpredictable, sinful. And yet, you had no choice but to adapt.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here?"
The voice slithered through the air, smooth as silk yet laced with mischief. You froze. Slowly, you turned, only to meet a pair of piercing golden eyes—Lucifer Morningstar himself. The Devil in the flesh.
You had known of him, of course. His name was whispered in hushed voices among the celestial beings, spoken as both a cautionary tale and an unholy legend. And now, here he stood before you, a glass of whiskey in hand, the faintest smirk playing on his lips.
"A new face in my kingdom," he mused, eyes raking over you with unhidden curiosity. "And yet, you don’t quite seem like the usual patron."
Your heart hammered against your ribs. He knew. Or, at the very least, he sensed something was off. Swallowing, you forced yourself to maintain composure.
"I... just needed a place to stay," you murmured. "Somewhere to start over."
Lucifer arched a brow. "Start over, you say?" He took a slow sip of his drink, his gaze never leaving yours. "Curious. You don’t strike me as the type to have much to run from."
If only he knew.
"I assure you, I’m just like everyone else here," you lied, though you doubted it would convince him of all people.
A soft chuckle escaped him. "Oh, darling, if that were true, you wouldn’t be looking at this place like a lost lamb tossed into the lion’s den."
Your breath hitched. He was dangerous, that much was certain. But there was something else beneath his knowing gaze—an intrigue that unsettled you.
Lucifer leaned in, his voice dropping to something almost...gentle. "Tell me, little angel, what sin led you here?"
Your blood ran cold.
Your eyes snapped to his, wide with barely contained panic. He knew. Maybe not the full truth, but he had seen enough. Lucifer’s smirk widened, his interest clearly piqued.
"Relax, darling. I don’t bite... unless asked," he teased, though there was an unmistakable glint of something deeper in his eyes. "How about a drink? Something tells me you could use one."
You hesitated, but you had come here to blend in, hadn’t you?
With a slow nod, you followed him toward the bar, oblivious to the path you had just stepped onto. Because one thing was certain—Lucifer Morningstar was not a man who let mysteries go unsolved.
And you, little fallen angel, had just become his most intriguing puzzle yet.
You sat at the bar, the cool marble counter a stark contrast to the warmth of the club’s atmosphere. Lucifer slid a drink toward you, watching expectantly as you eyed the amber liquid warily.
"It won’t bite, I promise," he mused, resting his chin on his hand. "Unless you’d prefer something a little sweeter? I do pride myself on knowing how to satisfy."
Heat bloomed on your cheeks at his teasing tone, and you quickly took a small sip to distract yourself. The burn was immediate, making you cough slightly, but you managed to keep it together. Lucifer chuckled, clearly entertained.
"So, tell me, what exactly are you hoping to find in my fine establishment? Surely not the usual vices? You seem far too... pristine for that."
You stiffened at the word. Pristine.
"I just... wanted to experience life. A normal one," you admitted hesitantly, careful not to reveal too much. "Everyone here seems so free. I guess I wanted to see what that felt like."
Lucifer hummed, tapping his fingers against the bar. "A noble pursuit, if not a tad naive. Humans, my dear, are anything but free. They're bound by their desires, their sins..." He leaned in, voice dropping to a low whisper. "And you? What binds you?"
You swallowed hard. "Nothing," you lied again. You hated lying to him. It was the first time you've lied. But when it comes to what you were, you felt the need to hide.
His smirk widened. "Fascinating."
He didn’t believe you. That much was obvious. And yet, he didn’t press further. Instead, he lifted his glass in a mock toast. "To new experiences, then. May they be... illuminating."
You hesitated before clinking your glass against his, the weight of his gaze never leaving you. Something told you that your time at LUX would be far more complicated than you had planned.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ .
A few days passed, and you found yourself back at LUX. This time, however, there was no sign of Lucifer. Relief washed over you as you stepped onto the dance floor, the music thrumming through your veins. For once, you allowed yourself to relax. No more careful glances over your shoulder, no more guarded conversations.
Letting the rhythm take over, you swayed to the beat, arms lifting as you let yourself get lost in the moment. The warmth of bodies moving around you, the flashing lights painting the room in gold and crimson—it was intoxicating in a different way. This was what humans did, right? They danced, they laughed, they lived.
A small smile tugged at your lips. Maybe, just maybe, you could belong here.
But the feeling didn’t last long.
Because as you turned, breathless and flushed from dancing, you felt it—an unfamiliar presence drawing closer. A man, his gaze dark and predatory, slid up beside you.
"Haven’t seen you here before," he purred, leaning in too close. "What’s a beauty like you doing all alone?"
Your pulse quickened. You had never been approached like this before. You weren't new to flirting, but this was the first time a human was flirting with you. You didn’t flirt back, but you didn’t push him away either, unsure of what to do.
He took your silence as permission, stepping even closer. "Come on, sweetheart, don’t be shy. Let me buy you a drink."
Before you could respond, a sudden chill swept through the air, an undeniable shift in the atmosphere.
"Oh, I highly doubt she’s interested."
The voice was smooth, edged with lethal amusement—Lucifer.
The man stiffened as a strong hand clamped onto his shoulder. You turned, heart skipping a beat as Lucifer’s golden gaze burned into the intruder, the usual mirth in his expression gone, replaced by something much darker.
"Now, ordinarily, I encourage a little sin," Lucifer mused, his fingers tightening, making the man wince. "But when it comes to her... I find myself feeling rather possessive."
Your breath hitched.
The man chuckled nervously, trying to shake Lucifer’s grip. "Hey, man, I didn’t mean any harm. Just talking."
Lucifer’s smirk was anything but kind. "Talking, were you? Funny, it looked more like pestering. And I simply hate pests."
The man barely had time to react before Lucifer twisted him away from you effortlessly, sending him stumbling back. "Now, do yourself a favor and crawl back into whatever hole you slithered out of before I decide you’re better suited as club décor."
The man muttered something under his breath before vanishing into the crowd. You exhaled shakily, but before you could even process what had just happened, Lucifer was there, his hand tilting your chin up so you met his eyes.
"Are you alright?" His voice was softer now, but the intensity hadn’t left.
You nodded, still stunned. "I... yeah, just haven't been approached like that in a long time."
Lucifer’s gaze darkened, his thumb brushing over your jaw. "Then let me make something very clear, darling." He leaned in, his breath warm against your ear. "Next time some insignificant mortal so much as looks at you the wrong way, you tell me."
Your breath caught, the weight of his words sending a shiver down your spine.
You weren’t sure if it was a warning—or a promise.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ .
A few months later you stood at the entrance of Lucifer’s penthouse, a little breathless, your heart racing in a way you didn’t quite understand. This was a first. It was the kind of invitation that made your pulse quicken and your thoughts scatter. The kind of invitation that felt like it should be more significant than just a simple ‘come over for a drink.’ But you had no idea what exactly it meant, not yet, and your curiosity was as thick as the tension in the air between the two of you.
You two had grown pretty fond of each other lately, mainly because the LUX was the only place you knew of that you could go to in order to see what humans do for fun. And each time you'd gone, Lucifer always made sure he was right by your side to talk to you the entire time.
Lucifer, ever the enigmatic figure, stood at the door, his usual devil-may-care smirk dancing on his lips. But tonight, there was something different in his eyes. The usual teasing, playful glint had softened, just slightly, and it left you unsure of what to expect.
“Welcome to my humble abode,” he said with a dramatic flourish, stepping aside so you could walk in. His voice was warm, inviting, but there was a playfulness to it that told you he was in full ‘Lucifer’ mode, never fully serious, always keeping you on your toes.
You glanced around as you stepped inside. The space was unlike anything you’d seen before—luxury and excess woven together seamlessly. The grand, sweeping views of the city skyline filled the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting everything in a soft golden glow from the setting sun. It was immaculate, modern, and yet strangely… comforting. You couldn’t quite put your finger on it.
“So,” Lucifer began, following behind you with an easy grace, his voice low and smooth. “What do you think? Does my penthouse live up to the devilish reputation?” His tone was teasing, but you could feel a hint of genuine curiosity in his words.
You chuckled, turning to face him, trying to take it all in. “It’s... impressive. Definitely not what I was expecting.”
He raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint returning to his eyes. “Ah, so you were expecting a den of hellfire and brimstone, perhaps?” He took a step closer to you, a playful smirk on his lips. “You’ll find none of that here. Just a little piece of paradise.”
You couldn’t help but smile at his charm, though a little part of you felt the usual fluttering warmth in your chest. The dynamic between you two had always been... complex. At times, he felt like a distant figure you couldn’t fully read, and at other times, he made you feel like the center of his attention.
You took a step further into the living room, the space sprawling out with plush furniture, a grand piano in the corner, and art pieces scattered tastefully throughout. The atmosphere felt... welcoming, but only in a way that seemed to challenge you to get comfortable. Lucifer was, after all, a creature of contradictions.
“I don’t know. I kind of like the idea of hellfire and brimstone,” you teased, glancing back at him with a playful grin. “Seems more... fitting for you.”
Lucifer let out a soft laugh, and for a brief moment, he looked more human than you had ever seen him. “You’re not wrong,” he said, his gaze darkening for just a second before his usual cocky confidence returned. He motioned toward the bar, his eyes locked on yours. “Drink? You look like you could use one.”
You hesitated for only a moment before walking over, feeling the quiet hum of electricity in the air as you both shared the same space. There was a sense of familiarity here, yet so much about him, about this—the penthouse, the city—felt new. Dangerous, but intoxicating.
“What’s your poison?” he asked, his voice teasing, but there was something else there, an edge to his tone that suggested a deeper question. Was it just a drink he was offering, or was there more to the invitation than you had first realized?
You wandered over to the bar, glancing over your shoulder to catch Lucifer’s eyes. He was still watching you, a smirk on his lips, clearly enjoying your company. There was no tension now—just the easy flow of the moment, like two old friends or something more, though you couldn’t quite figure out which.
“I’ll take whatever you’ve got,” you said, shrugging nonchalantly, trying to keep your composure, though your heart still fluttered at the way he looked at you.
Lucifer grinned, stepping up beside you, his proximity sending a quiet shiver down your spine. He leaned in close, the faintest scent of his cologne lingering in the air. He moved effortlessly, his hands skilled as he grabbed a bottle of whiskey from the shelf and poured two glasses. His fingers brushed against yours for just a second as he handed you your drink, and you didn’t miss the spark in his eyes.
“Such a decisive choice,” he teased, his voice smooth as silk. “You have no idea what you’ve just gotten yourself into.”
You raised an eyebrow, playfully narrowing your gaze at him. “Oh really? I don’t know if I should be scared or intrigued now.”
Lucifer chuckled, the sound low and rich, full of warmth. He leaned back against the bar, taking a slow sip from his own glass, his eyes never leaving yours. “A little bit of both, I think,” he replied, winking. “But let’s be honest, you’ve been intrigued from the moment you stepped into LUX all that time ago.”
You shot him a playful grin, rolling your eyes in mock exasperation. “I don’t know what you mean. I’m just here for a drink, Lucifer.”
“Just a drink?” He raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. “I think there’s something else keeping you here. Curiosity, perhaps? Or is it the undeniable charm of your charming host?” His tone was teasing, but there was a subtle edge to it, a reminder of the devilish persona that made him him.
You couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh, I’m sure it’s all your charm. You do have a way of making an impression.”
Lucifer smirked, his eyes darkening just a little as he leaned in slightly. “Impression, hmm?” He paused, the air thickening with the playful tension that you both seemed to thrive in. “I’d say it’s more than just that. I’ve always known how to entertain my guests, after all.”
There was something in the way he said it—something that made your stomach flip. You knew he was playing, but for some reason, it felt like there was more behind his words. As if he wasn’t just teasing anymore, but trying to see how far you’d let him push.
You leaned in, matching his teasing tone with ease. “Is that so? I’m curious to see if you can back up that claim.”
Lucifer gave a devilish grin, his eyes never leaving yours as he took another sip from his glass. He held it up in a silent toast before lowering it slowly, his fingers curling around the glass as he spoke. “Oh, I’ll back it up. You’ll see. But I do like a challenge, so you’ll have to keep up.”
“I think I’m up for it,” you replied, your voice laced with mock confidence. You took a sip of your own drink, feeling the warmth of the alcohol slide down your throat. The taste of whiskey mingled with the taste of his lingering gaze, and you didn’t look away.
“Good.” Lucifer’s voice was a low murmur now, just a hint of something darker beneath the surface. He pushed off the bar and moved to the nearby sofa, gesturing for you to join him. “I think we’ll get along just fine.”
You followed him, sinking into the plush cushions beside him. The space between you was small, but it felt comfortable, familiar in a way that surprised you. You leaned back, stretching your legs out in front of you, and let out a breath. For a moment, everything was quiet, the weight of the world outside the penthouse disappearing. It was just the two of you, laughing and teasing, lost in your own little world.
“So, tell me, (Y/N),” Lucifer began, breaking the silence with a smirk, his voice still playful. “What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done?”
You leaned back into the couch, rolling your eyes at his question. “Why do you want to know?”
“Curiosity,” he replied smoothly, his smile widening. “You're the most innocent mortal I've ever come across so I don't expect it to be anything crazy. But I have a feeling your answer might surprise me.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Is that so? You’re quite the detective, aren’t you?”
Lucifer chuckled, his eyes gleaming with mischief. “I like to think of myself as a man of many talents.” He leaned closer, lowering his voice. “So? What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done?”
You paused, letting the tension build for a second before giving him a mischievous grin. Truth is, there wasn't really anything bad you had done. “I don’t think you’re ready for that answer, Lucifer.”
“Oh, I’m ready,” he teased back, his voice softening just enough to send a little thrill through you. “You’d be surprised how much I can handle.”
The conversation between you and Lucifer carried on, light and teasing, but there was an undeniable connection that seemed to grow with every exchange. It was as if the playful banter was just the surface, something both of you used to avoid the deeper emotions bubbling beneath.
Lucifer, now leaning back against the arm of the sofa, regarded you with a look that was playful but intense. "You know, you’re surprisingly good at this," he said, his voice low but with a hint of admiration.
"At teasing you?" you teased back, raising an eyebrow. "It’s not that hard. You’re an easy target."
Lucifer scoffed dramatically, placing his glass down on the coffee table before turning his full attention back to you. "Easy target?" His lips curled into a smirk, and there was a glint in his eye that could only be described as mischievous. "You think you’re clever, don’t you?"
You shrugged casually, a playful smile tugging at your lips. "I’m just getting started."
His gaze softened for a moment, his expression almost unreadable, before the usual teasing returned. "I like you, (Y/N). Not many people can keep up with me."
The statement caught you off guard, and you glanced at him, unsure if he was still playing or if there was something deeper in his words. You couldn’t quite tell where the game ended and where the truth began with him.
"Not many people can keep up with you because they’re too scared," you shot back, a cheeky grin on your face. "I’m not scared of you, Lucifer."
That was true. But there was something else—something about him, about the way he carried himself, that made it so damn hard to look away. The way he looked at you, his words always laced with layers of meaning. You were intrigued, more than you wanted to admit.
Lucifer’s smile faltered just slightly, the mask he wore dropping for a split second. "You should be," he murmured, but the words felt like they were aimed at something deeper than just the usual banter.
You tilted your head, feeling the shift in the air. The playful tension between you both hadn’t disappeared, but there was something more now. Something heavier.
"I’m not," you said softly, feeling the weight of the moment settle in. "I’m not scared of you. Or anything you could throw at me."
He was silent for a moment, the soft clink of his glass being set down the only sound in the room. Then, slowly, he shifted closer to you on the couch, his gaze fixed firmly on you. There was no smile now, no teasing. Just intensity.
“You don’t know who you’re dealing with, (Y/N),” he said, his voice quiet but somehow commanding, pulling your attention fully to him. His proximity was intoxicating, like a magnetic pull that drew you in without effort.
You swallowed, heart racing as the air around you thickened. The playful atmosphere was now replaced by something deeper, something that neither of you could ignore.
“I know more than you think,” you whispered, your voice quieter than before. The words felt like a challenge, though your pulse was racing from the intensity of the moment.
Lucifer leaned in just enough that his breath ghosted over your skin, sending a shiver down your spine. His eyes flicked to your lips for the briefest moment before meeting your gaze again, as if weighing something unspoken between you.
“You do, do you?” he murmured, voice low and intimate. “Then tell me, (Y/N), what do you really want?”
You held his gaze, the question lingering in the air between you like a spark, waiting to ignite. The tension was palpable, the space between you both closing just enough that you could feel the heat radiating off of him.
You couldn’t speak for a second. What did you want? More than you wanted to admit, more than you’d ever let yourself think about. You’d spent so much time pretending not to care, but with him, there was no hiding it.
You tilted your head, enjoying the little game you were playing with him. “Kiss me,” you whispered.
The air between you two instantly thickened. Lucifer didn’t flinch, didn’t hesitate. He simply watched you, his eyes narrowing slightly as he weighed the dare. For a brief moment, his expression faltered, and you could tell he wasn’t entirely sure if you were serious or playing some twisted game.
“You think you can just tell me what to do, huh?” he said, voice low, playful but somehow darker, like he was considering whether or not to actually follow through.
You didn’t break eye contact, your heartbeat quickening. “I do.”
There was a long pause, a strange kind of tension rising between you, and just when you thought he might back out, Lucifer leaned forward, placing his hand gently on the side of your face. The touch was almost too soft, too careful, like he was gauging your reaction before he moved any further.
Then, slowly, his lips hovered just inches from yours. You could feel the heat of his breath against your skin, making your pulse race even more.
“You are dangerous, you know that?” Lucifer murmured, his lips brushing against yours lightly, a whisper of a kiss, not quite touching but close enough to make you ache for it. “But it’s too late for you to back out now.”
Before you could respond, his lips met yours fully, and everything else in the world seemed to fade away. The kiss was intense, almost too much, but it felt like an electric shock running through you both. He didn’t pull away immediately. Instead, he deepened it, his hand sliding to the back of your neck as he pulled you closer. There was no hesitation, no pulling back now.
When he finally broke away, both of you were breathless, and he stared at you with an unreadable look. You could feel the weight of his emotions, swirling between the teasing and something much, much deeper. His hands were still on your skin, his touch warm and firm, but there was a flicker of something else in his eyes now, something that made your pulse race.
Lucifer’s lips hovered close to yours, as if still hungry for more, but the energy between you had shifted. It was no longer playful—no longer a game. The intensity was palpable, each kiss deepening, the heat rising as his hands began to wander.
But then, you felt it—an overwhelming surge of panic as you felt his hands reach your back. You pulled away sharply, your breath coming in shallow gasps as your heart hammered in your chest. Lucifer’s brows furrowed in confusion as you stood up quickly, distancing yourself from him in a way that felt almost desperate. The room felt smaller, the walls closing in around you.
"Wait," you breathed, your voice shaky. "Stop."
Lucifer stood up as well, but he didn’t approach you right away. His expression was one of concern, mixed with frustration. "What’s wrong?" he asked, his voice soft but edged with confusion.
You took another step back, instinctively putting more space between the two of you, your heart racing faster now. The walls felt like they were closing in, and you could hear the blood rushing in your ears. What was happening? Why did you feel this way? Just a few moments ago, everything felt so... right, so intense. But now? Now, it felt like you were on the edge of something you couldn’t control.
"I—" You stopped yourself, hands shaking slightly as you gripped the back of the couch. "I can't do this right now, Lucifer."
Lucifer’s gaze softened, but there was still a flash of confusion in his eyes. "Why? What happened?" He took a step closer again, but you flinched back, almost imperceptibly, and his face tightened.
"I... I can’t let you in," you blurted out, the words spilling from your mouth before you could stop them. "Not like this. Not when I—"
The moment you said it, the weight of your own words hit you like a freight train. You couldn’t explain it. You didn’t know what you were afraid of. But something inside you—the fear, the panic—was too overwhelming to ignore.
“I’m sorry, I just—” You squeezed your eyes shut, trying to calm your breathing. You couldn’t think straight. The kiss—the closeness—had stirred something inside you, something you hadn’t prepared for. You had never let anyone in like that before, not even close. And now, the walls you’d built around yourself, around your feelings—everything was crashing down.
Lucifer watched you closely, something flickering behind his eyes. His usual cocky confidence was gone, replaced by something softer. Maybe... maybe even a little concerned for you? You couldn’t tell. He seemed to want to say something but hesitated.
"I can’t... I can’t do this." Your voice wavered, and you quickly wiped at your eyes, trying to hide the tears that had started to well up. "I’m not the person you think I am, Lucifer. I'm sorry, I—"
Lucifer took a step closer, his eyes never leaving yours. "Y/N," he said softly.
You backed up a little more, pressing your palms to your face to try to steady yourself. "I just need some space," you managed to say through your shaking hands. "Please."
Lucifer didn’t move, though his eyes softened, understanding flickering in his gaze. "Alright," he said, voice barely above a whisper. "I won’t push. But if you want to talk... I’m here."
You nodded, too overwhelmed to say anything more. The room felt colder now, despite the warmth of the tension that had just filled it. And as you turned your back to him, you felt a deep sense of guilt gnawing at you. But you knew—deep down—you needed this distance. You needed time to figure out what you were truly afraid of... and what this connection with Lucifer really meant.
Lucifer stood there, silently watching you, but you didn’t dare turn around again. Not yet. You couldn’t.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ .
Lucifer’s heels clicked against the floor as he entered the interrogation room, his sharp gaze immediately landing on you, sitting on the cold metal chair, your face buried in your hands as you sobbed uncontrollably. His usual smirk faltered, a deep furrow appearing between his brows as he took in the sight of you—shaken, vulnerable, the complete opposite of the confident, composed person he had come to know.
“(Y/N)?” His voice was laced with confusion and something darker, a hint of frustration creeping into his tone. “What the hell is this?”
The officers in the room shifted uncomfortably, not expecting the Devil himself to stroll in like he owned the place. They weren’t sure what to make of the sudden intrusion, but Lucifer didn’t care about them. He focused on you.
“What have you done?” he demanded, though it wasn’t quite anger—it was more bewilderment, disbelief. The sight of you like this shook him in a way he wasn’t used to.
You looked up, your eyes wild, panic stricken. "Lucifer, I— I swear, I didn’t—"
He turned his attention to the officers, his expression darkening. “What in the name of hell is going on here?”
He moved closer to you, his face softening just slightly as he saw the fear in your eyes, the tremble in your voice. The hard edge of his demeanor started to crack, though his frustration with the situation was still evident.
Lucifer’s gaze was still fixed on you, and his usual air of confidence faltered as he took in the sight of your fragile form, the way your chest heaved with each desperate breath. His eyes darted to the officers in the room, his expression now a mix of confusion and frustration.
“What's happening here?” Lucifer demanded, his voice colder than usual as he gestured to the officers.
One of the officers, a middle-aged man with a serious demeanor, stepped forward, not flinching at Lucifer’s presence. He remained calm and professional. “We have evidence that points to your friend as the primary suspect in a murder case, sir. We’re following protocol, but this—” He placed a file on the table, flipping it open to show photos of the crime scene. “The evidence is compelling.”
Lucifer's eyes scanned the photos—blood-soaked floors, the victim’s lifeless body splayed across the room, and then... your face, eerily calm in one of the shots, taken moments after the crime. He stared at it for a long time, disbelief sinking into him. “This is impossible. She... No. She would never— She's too innocent for this. She doesn't even lie, you really think she'd do this?"
The officer continued, unfazed by Lucifer's shock. “We found the suspect standing over the victim’s body, covered in blood. The murder weapon was lying at her feet.”
Lucifer’s heart dropped as his mind struggled to process what he was hearing. Standing over the body? Covered in blood? The person he’d come to trust, care for... it didn’t make sense.
His jaw tightened, the shock turning to a simmering anger, but not toward the officers. Toward you. The disbelief still lingered, but now there was a coldness in his eyes as he looked back at you, sitting there, tears still running down your face.
“I need you to leave. Now.” His voice was ice, and the officers, clearly intimidated by his tone, didn’t argue. They stood and filed out of the room, leaving Lucifer alone with you.
The door slammed shut behind them, and the room suddenly felt suffocatingly quiet. Lucifer took a step closer to you, his expression unreadable. “(Y/N)... What have you done?”
The moment the door clicked shut, you felt the air shift, and your chest tightened in fear. Lucifer’s intense gaze was now fully on you, and you could barely hold his stare as your panic surged again. You wiped at your eyes, trying to clear the tears that wouldn’t stop falling.
“Lucifer, please,” you sobbed, shaking your head violently. “I swear to you, I didn’t do it. I didn’t kill him. I—I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time! Please... you have to believe me!”
Lucifer stood still, his gaze unwavering as he watched you break down before him. The pain in your voice seemed so real, yet something inside him told him not to trust you. Not now. Not after all the evidence. The thought that you'd do something so terrible destroyed him.
He took a slow, deliberate step forward, his expression hardening, eyes cold and unyielding. “Wrong place wrong time?” he repeated bitterly, his voice dangerously calm. “You expect me to believe that? After everything I’ve seen? After what they’ve shown me?”
You couldn’t stop the trembling in your body, the weight of his disbelief sinking into your soul. “Lucifer, please,” you begged, your voice cracking. “I would never hurt anyone. I swear to you, I didn’t kill him. You know me. You know me better than anyone—please, don’t do this to me.”
But Lucifer’s eyes remained cold, locked onto yours like a predator. He took another step, his anger now bubbling to the surface, his jaw clenched so tightly you could hear it grind. “I don’t know you, (Y/N), not the way I thought I did. You’re telling me that someone just planted you there, covered you in blood, and left the weapon at your feet?”
You tried to explain, but the words got stuck in your throat. Nothing you said seemed to matter. Nothing could change the look in Lucifer’s eyes now.
“Do you think I’m a fool?” Lucifer hissed, his tone laced with venom. “I trusted you. And now I’m standing here, listening to you beg me to believe that this is all just some tragic misunderstanding?”
You gasped for breath, tears blurring your vision as you tried desperately to hold on to his trust, but it was slipping through your fingers like sand.
“I never wanted this. Please,” you cried, your voice barely a whisper, “You have to know I didn’t do it.”
Lucifer turned away sharply, running a hand through his hair in frustration. He could feel his own temper rising, and as much as he hated it, he had to admit—his trust in you was shaken. Doubt was a dangerous thing, and it was starting to creep in.
“I don’t know what to believe anymore,” Lucifer muttered, his voice a low growl. “I thought you were—”
"I am! Lucifer, please! I would never do this! Please you have to believe me! I love you, Lucifer, please!" You screamed, begging him to help you. This felt like the worst heartbreak you've ever had.
Lucifer’s patience was rapidly running thin, the doubt gnawing at him like an insistent itch. He took a sharp breath, his whole demeanor shifting from cold disbelief to an unmistakable fury. His eyes burned as he turned to face you again, his voice rising, cutting through the silence like a blade.
“You’re lying,” he spat, his words sharp and filled with accusation. “I can see it. You’re trying to manipulate me, trying to play me like you’ve played everyone else.”
Your heart pounded in your chest as his words landed like a slap. You shook your head desperately, standing up from the chair, hands trembling. “I’m not lying!” you screamed, your voice cracking from the emotion, the fear, the desperation. “Why would I lie to you? Why would I—"
Lucifer’s face twisted with disgust, his anger now fully unleashed. He stepped closer, his voice booming as he loomed over you, his fury tangible. “Because it’s the only way to get out of this. You’ve been caught, and now you’re trying to talk your way out of it. It’s pathetic, (Y/N). I don’t know who you are, but this... this isn’t the person I thought you were.”
You recoiled, your breath coming in short, uneven gasps. “Lucifer, I didn’t kill him! Please, I’m not like this!” Your hands were trembling now, your body shaking from the combination of fear and the sharp pain of his words cutting into you. “You know me! You know I’d never hurt anyone. Why can’t you believe me?”
Lucifer took another step forward, the space between you now closing in with each passing second, and you flinched as the anger in his eyes grew more intense. So intense that his eyes began to glow red. “You’re a murderer, (Y/N), and you’re trying to hide it behind your lies. You tricked me into thinking you were this innocent girl free of sin. I can’t believe I’m even having this conversation with you.”
The words stung harder than anything he could’ve physically done, and you couldn’t stop the surge of anger rising in you. “I didn’t do it, Lucifer! Why don’t you get it?! Why are you blaming me?” Your voice broke as you yelled at him, the frustration and panic all bubbling over in a rush of emotion. “I swear to you, I didn’t kill him! I didn’t—!”
Suddenly, both of you were standing now, faces inches apart. The tension in the room was thick, like the air itself was choking you both. Lucifer’s fists were clenched at his sides, his jaw set so tight it looked like it might break, his entire posture rigid with rage.
Adrenaline surging through your body, every muscle on edge as you stared at him, not backing down, but now bracing for something. His anger felt like a physical force, and you were scared—terrified, even. But you couldn’t show him that. You couldn’t show him the fear you were feeling. Not now.
“Don’t you dare make me out to be a killer!” you screamed, your voice raw, but the fear in your eyes betrayed you.
Lucifer’s voice dropped dangerously low, seething with anger. “Then what are you? Huh? Because you sure as hell aren’t the person I thought you were.”
“I’m an angel,” you screamed, your voice breaking the stillness like a shout in a void. “A fallen angel!”
Lucifer froze in place. His eyes widened for a split second, a flicker of hesitation crossing his face. But it was gone almost as quickly as it had appeared. He blinked, shook his head, as if trying to make sense of what you just said, but the anger was still there. The disbelief still lingered, turning his expression hard once more.
“An angel?” He scoffed, his voice filled with contempt. “That’s your excuse? You’re an angel and that makes you... what? Innocent? You killed him, (Y/N). You still stand there, lying to my face, still putting on this innocence act, trying to tell me this is the truth?”
You could feel the sting of his words, each one like a knife. But you couldn’t stop now. The truth had to come out.
With a shaky breath, you pulled your shirt over your head, dropping it onto the floor without even thinking. The cold air hit your skin, but it was nothing compared to the heat of the moment. You turned your back to him, revealing the jagged, grotesque scars that ran across your back—where your wings had once been.
Lucifer stood motionless, his eyes glued to the sight in front of him. He was silent. His usual sharp tongue seemed to fail him in that moment. His chest rose and fell slowly, but he said nothing.
You waited, your heart hammering in your chest, feeling the vulnerability of the moment. "Do you see them now? Do you see what they did to me? You think I wanted this? I didn’t ask for any of it. But I’m not lying, Lucifer. I’m not—"
He didn’t move. Didn’t speak. There was no anger, no accusation, just a thick, suffocating silence that seemed to stretch on forever.
Lucifer's eyes stayed fixed on the scars, and the tension in the room was palpable. He took a slow step forward, drawn to the raw, jagged marks that marred your back. His breath hitched when he saw them more clearly—the base of the wings still visible, the edges frayed and uneven, as if someone had taken a blade to them and carved them off slowly, making sure you felt every inch of the torture.
The very sight of it made his chest tighten. His jaw clenched as he reached out, not touching, but standing so close he could almost feel the echoes of your suffering. His voice was quieter now, though still filled with disbelief.
“No…” he whispered, barely able to form the words. “Why would they cast out you?”
He took a steadying breath, his mind racing, and for the first time, he could almost feel your pain. The pain of having your wings ripped away, of having that piece of your soul stolen. And in that moment, he couldn’t help but imagine what it must have felt like for you.
The slow, torturous way it had been done, not a quick severing like his own, but a drawn-out, deliberate act of cruelty. The pain of it must’ve been excruciating, ten times worse than what he had gone through.
He swallowed hard, and for the first time since this nightmare began, Lucifer was at a loss for words. His gaze softened, a fleeting moment of empathy shining through the darkness of his anger.
“You... you must’ve felt it. Every second,” he murmured, more to himself than to you. “I can’t even imagine…”
His eyes flicked to your face, and though his anger still lingered, something inside him shifted. It was as if the walls he had so carefully constructed around his heart started to crack, but he didn’t know how to face it. Didn’t know how to reconcile the pain you had endured with what you were being accused of.
The room was silent, the weight of what had just happened hanging between you both. The air felt thick, as if the truth you had been holding back was now seeping out, and Lucifer’s gaze remained on your scars, his eyes softening with an understanding you hadn’t expected.
You stood there, still facing away from him, too vulnerable now to turn back. Your heart felt like it was breaking all over again as the words you had buried deep inside finally started to come out.
“Raziel…” you whispered, barely able to say the name without the flood of memories threatening to choke you. You took a shuddering breath before continuing, “We... we were together. I thought we were… I thought he was the one. We were close, and I trusted him. I loved him.”
Lucifer’s brows furrowed slightly at the mention of Raziel. He was still processing everything, but he didn’t interrupt, waiting for you to speak, to release the pain.
“Raziel betrayed me,” you continued, your voice breaking as the floodgates opened. “I don’t even know how it happened... he twisted everything, lied to me. He hurt me—physically, emotionally. I didn’t know who he was anymore, Lucifer. But I tried. I tried to fix it. I went to other angels, thinking they’d help me, but they all… they all sided with him.”
You could feel the sting of the memories, the frustration of having no one believe you. You swallowed hard, trying to steady your voice, but it trembled with the weight of it all.
“He said I did something terrible. Something so bad that I… I don’t even know where he came up with it. He made them believe I was the villain. And... then... they cast me out.” Your breath hitched, and you wrapped your arms around yourself, like trying to hold yourself together. “I was cast out of Heaven. Fallen.”
Lucifer’s face tightened at your words, the pieces falling into place. He stepped closer to you, but you didn’t move, too lost in the memory of your pain.
“It wasn’t enough for him to destroy me emotionally,” you said, voice trembling with the horror of what happened next. “No… he was the one chosen to… to cut off my wings.”
You glanced over your shoulder at him now, eyes filled with pain and shame. “He was the one who made sure I felt every second of it—every fucking second, Lucifer.” Your voice broke at the end, the rawness of it all overwhelming. “He took everything from me. And then he left me. I didn’t have anyone, no one to turn to. And now here I am... this is who I am now.”
You exhaled shakily, unable to meet his gaze anymore. The room felt suffocating, but you couldn’t bring yourself to move, to escape from this moment of painful vulnerability.
Lucifer stared at you for what felt like an eternity, his face a mask of fury and confusion. His jaw tightened as the weight of your words sank in. His anger shifted, but it wasn’t directed at you anymore. It was at Anael. At the betrayal. The deception. It was all starting to make sense—how you had been twisted, how everything you had said was now just one more thing that had been taken from you.
He clenched his fists, his chest rising and falling with the fury he was trying to contain. But when he saw the tears streaking down your face, it hit him like a punch to the gut. The raw desperation in your eyes—it made him freeze. He hadn’t realized how much he had hurt you, how deeply his words had cut.
Your voice, barely a whisper, broke the silence. “I didn’t kill him, Lucifer. I don’t even know how I ended up there… I—” Your words faltered, and you gasped for breath, choking on the tears that flooded your eyes. “I think Raziel… he did something to me again. He must have teleported me there, framed me. Please… you have to believe me.”
Lucifer’s anger faltered for a brief second, his expression shifting from rage to something that resembled guilt—pain, even. He opened his mouth to speak, but the words got stuck in his throat as he watched you, utterly broken in front of him.
“I’ve never sinned, Lucifer,” you whispered through your sobs, voice shaking with the weight of everything you’d been through. “Never lied. And I know you can feel it. You knew it the second I walked into LUX. Even though I’m fallen, I’m still… me. Please…” Your hands were trembling as you reached out to him, your voice almost pleading. “Don’t leave me. You’re the only one who’s never lied to me. Please, don’t leave me too.”
Lucifer stood there, frozen in place, his chest tightening as he watched you—completely shattered. His heart ached for you in a way he didn’t want to admit. He felt the guilt of every word he had thrown at you, every accusation he had made. And suddenly, it was as if all the times he had been betrayed in his life didn’t matter as much anymore. Because right now, the only thing that mattered was you—broken, crying, and desperate for him to believe in you.
Just like the angels did to you before you fell... The thought hit him hard, and he suddenly understood. He had been no different. He had acted just like they had, accusing you of something you didn’t do, making you feel worthless.
His eyes softened, his anger turning to remorse as he closed the distance between you two. He reached out, gently placing a hand on your shoulder.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, his voice raw with emotion. “I shouldn’t have… I shouldn’t have treated you like that. I can’t… I can’t believe I did that to you.”
For the first time, Lucifer seemed truly vulnerable—like he didn’t know how to fix the damage he had caused. His hand lingered on your shoulder, not forcing anything, just there, steady and warm.
“I believe you,” he said quietly, his voice shaky. “I believe you.”
Lucifer stood there, his hand still resting on your shoulder, his heart pounding in his chest. He wanted to reach out more, to pull you into his arms, to tell you everything was going to be okay. The words were on the tip of his tongue. He wanted to kiss you, to show you somehow, some way, that everything would be fine. That he’d be here for you, no matter what.
But he stopped himself. He hesitated.
This wasn’t the time. He knew it. The pain in your eyes, the tears that kept falling, told him that you needed something more than just comfort. You needed the truth. You needed him to help you, to prove that he believed you.
And as much as he wanted to make everything right, he couldn’t rush it, not when everything was still so broken between the two of you.
Lucifer let out a breath, feeling the weight of the moment press down on him. His chest ached, his emotions swirling in a way he hadn’t felt in a long time. He wanted to kiss you, to make you forget everything that had happened, even just for a moment. To tell you it was going to be okay, to ease the pain in your heart.
But he couldn’t. Not like this. Not when everything was so raw and uncertain.
Instead, he simply tightened his grip on your shoulder, his thumb brushing gently over the fabric of your shirt, as if grounding himself. “I’m not going anywhere,” he said softly, his voice still thick with emotion. “I’m not leaving you, (Y/N). Not now. Not ever.”
His gaze lingered on you, and for a brief moment, there was a flicker of something between you two—something more than the pain and confusion. Something he wasn’t sure how to name, but he felt it. And just for a second, he almost let himself close that distance, just to make you feel something other than all the hurt.
a/n: luciiiii! it’s been so long 😭 (rules for celebration here!)
Ever since Charlie was born, your relationship with Lucifer had been strained. You both wanted to protect her from all the harm Hell would reign down on your family, but your methods were quite different.
He wanted to make peace with the Heavens — have them back out of their killings once a year. You wanted to hide Charlie from the exterminators until she was able to take care of herself without you or Lucifer. Or until she was able to use her magic properly.
Down to the second Charlie turned eighteen, you and Lucifer continued to argue about what was considered right. Unfortunately, in the heat of the moment after a horrible extermination, Lucifer finally snapped at you when Charlie walked in. She never saw her dad yell at you, and you clearly weren't expecting it either because later that night you left Morningstar Manor.
You hadn’t seen Lucifer since, but Charlie refused to lose contact between you and her dad. She tried to get you two to meet up, but no avail. Not until she needed help with the hotel and refused to admit she invited her dad over when you arrived.
“Charlie, you didn’t call your father to join us, right?" You asked and sighed when she puffed her cheeks out. She was a horrible liar and you knew that came from her being born from two angels. “Great.”
“Mom, whatever you and dad had going on should be history by now! It’s been what? Two centuries since you’ve last seen him?” Charlie grabbed your hands and squeezed them, looking back and forth between your eyes. "It'll be okay."
You opened your mouth to retort but she had already walked away to find Vaggie. Bringing a hand up to your temple, you silently cursed that she was so determined to get everything absolutely perfect.
Although you never officially divorced Lucifer, he still left you with a broken heart that he never attempted to mend. He left all your broken pieces for you to deal with — not caring that you had to handle all the sinners’ affairs as well when he decided to go M.I.A.
“Oh sweet sweet queen of hell,” Angel wrapped an arm around your shoulder while the other popped open a drink, taking a quick swig of the alcoholic drink. “I’m sure you can handle whatever shit his majesty will throw at you.”
“It’s not what I can handle.” You murmur and shake your head, spinning the golden ring on your finger before glaring at it once you realize what you were doing. “It’s if he can handle seeing me after ages of leaving me on my own without anything but my own fucking tears.”
Angel’s eyes widened before toasting to that, chugging the rest of his drink down and pulling you toward the couch. Honestly, you were ready to fight for your side again until you saw him. It was like nothing affected him.
When Lucifer burst into the Hotel like he owned the place, you noticed the façade he put on just to see Charlie smile. He was always putting on a face so she would see the best of him. He was in the middle of meeting all the sinners of the hotel when his gaze shifted to you, face paling when he met your glare.
As if you read his mind, you turned away and immersed yourself in whatever Angel Dust was complaining about to Husk. Charlie looked between the both of you, defeat etching across her face. Nothing was ever going to get done if the two of you refused to acknowledge each other the entire time he was staying with them.
She had to fix her parents' relationship — despite the way the both of you avoided each other like a plague.
"Charlie, are you sure this is a good idea? I mean, your mom looked like she was ready to kill your dad the second he stepped into the hotel." Vaggie looked up her, eye brows creased in doubt. She was never one to doubt her girlfriend, but the King and Queen of Hell could easily kill all the sinners within the snap of their fingers if pushed far enough.
"They may be upset with each other but we won't get anything done if they keep walking eggshells around each other!" Charlie rubbed her forehead and began to pace the foyer, eyes glowing red in frustration. "Besides, my dad regrets ever yelling at my mom. She just... She doesn't know it because they're both too stubborn!"
Charlie's horns poked out before settling, steam releasing from her mouth. She waved a hand over the room's door and let the enchantments settle before whisking Vaggie away. "Anyway, we have to try and do this. If we don't, we can say goodbye to the hotel forever."
"Charlie, sweetheart, what are we even looking for? I can barely see anything in here." You huffed and moved cobwebs away from your face, snapping your fingers to produce small flames. When you didn't hear her respond, you turned around only to be met with the eyes of Lucifer Morningstar himself. "Where's Charlie?"
"Wha— Uhm, she shoved me in here and told me to look for something." Lucifer squeaked out and waved his hand around, letting golden whisps illuminate the small space. "I didn't realize you would be in here."
You rolled your eyes and continued to push away old pieces of furniture, doing your best to ignore the tugging in your chest. However, Lucifer couldn't help but stare. You were just as gorgeous as the day you met, and the lights shining across your face only took his breath away.
"Do you know what we're supposed to be— Lucifer!" You frowned and dragged a hand down your face in annoyance, letting the flames go out. "You know what? I can't deal with this right now."
You moved to the door and tried yanking it open, only to jerk backward. You looked back at Lucifer before trying the door again, this time the handle burning your palms. Wincing, you glare at the door and call out for you daughter.
"Charlie Morningstar, you come here and unlock this door!"
"Not until you and dad make up!" She shouted through the thick door, mind forcing herself to be confident. "And don't even try using your magic because I will send you back in there."
"Charlie!" You groan and bang your forehead on the door, shutting your eyes in disappointment.
Lucifer tugged his hat down to cover his face and moved to sit on an old crate behind him. He couldn't face you. Not yet. Not when you refused to even meet his eyes properly. It was like the Heavens purposely wanted to see him suffer.
Finally admitting defeat, you sat on the opposing crate and held your breath. You didn't think seeing him would affect you so much, especially since it had been cartularies since you last saw him. But Lucifer was always full of surprises and you knew Charlie got that trait from him.
You blew out a breath and spun your ring, eyes glued to the wooden floor. "Why did you do it?"
Lucifer peeked past his hat and looked around the room like it wasn't just you and him. He swallowed and shifted his gaze over to you, pursing his lips when he saw your wedding band. He opened his mouth to speak but shut it, not knowing what to say to you.
"Why did never try and stop me from leaving?" You whispered out and watched his body stiffen.
"I..." Lucifer shook his head and buried his face in his hands, voice muffled. "I don't know."
You brows creased and clasped your hands together, wanting to stop your fidgeting. "Lucifer, you promised to keep your family safe and you didn't even try to get me to stay." You stared at his hands, eyes hardening at the sight of his own wedding ring. "I don't understand—"
"Because you were so paranoid that something horrible was going to happen to us!" Lucifer finally burst and stood from his spot, eyes red and face contorted in dissatisfaction. He began to pace the small room and rubbed the back of his neck, voice cracking. "You were so overprotective of Charlie that you wouldn't even let me near her somedays."
"You were handling the Heavens, Luce! Did you think I wanted to keep her away from her own father? I didn't want her dead from the hands of an exterminator." You paused at the thought of your daughter ever dying from the hands of a supposed holy figure. When Lucifer shook his head, you wiped a stray tear and turned away. "You never understood what I was trying to tell you."
"Neither did you." He stopped his walking and stared at you with solemn eyes. He knew you tried your best to protect Charlie, but he wanted to protect more than his daughter. He also wanted to protect you, but you never understood his plans to do so. "Sometimes I think you wanted to pretend this wasn't our reality, but it is."
"Was it my fault Heaven kicked us out?" You bit your bottom lip and finally met his eyes, watching them soften instantly. You tilted your head to the side and frowned, "You told me you'd love me for all time but the second we landed in Hell, our time was cut short wasn't it?"
The look in your eyes broke Lucifer's heart even further. He always hated arguing with you and for the first time in so long, he wanted to freeze time and just hold you.
"You may think I've been perfectly fine without you, but nursing a broken heart absolutely crushes a person." You whisper before standing and walking toward the enchanted door, muttering your own reversal charms.
Lucifer reached out to you before pulling back, his own eyes glossing over. "Angel..."
"After we help Charlie with her hotel, we're done, okay?" You stay by the door and refuse to face him, doing your best to not have your voice waiver in heartache. When you didn't hear a response, you gripped the handle harder. "Luce?"
"Okay." He murmured back and tapped his cane to the ground, vanishing to a different part of the hotel.
You choked on your tears and covered your mouth, letting your heart completely dissolve to nothing. You knew crying wasn't going to help, but you had to try and be productive. Afterall, you were the Queen of Hell.
do you have any more lucifer crumbs that you can give us please 🥺 i love you and the way you write him please never leave me
first of all, tysm for sticking around as long as you did babe! I appreciate you sm ♥️♥️♥️ and I’m so glad you like the way I write him! You really have no idea how much it means to me that you enjoy it. So sorry I haven’t been posting as of late, been working on an original book, and suddenly I got this spark for Luci.
it’s genuinely been so long since I played poker so I’m sorry if this is wrong but—
˚⟡ ˖ ࣪ ROYALLY FLUSHED. L.MORNINGSTAR.
— fluff, sfw, gn reader, 639 words; you play poker with Luci and he never loses. Ever.
Cards fanned out under delicate fingers, masking whatever his lips might have told you without hissing a word. His eyes were willing victims of the spotlight he’d casted himself—he always had known his power, how the very snap of his fingers could cause whole worlds to collapse. But for now, the stare that wrought the very foundation of your technique were worlds enough for him, it seemed.
Lavender lids casted over what one might mistake for bored eyes in a split second’s glance, but the embers in his ruby eyes spelled something far worse—deception. Lust, even, if you only had two more seconds. But given the poker game in front of you, his gaze—as heated as they were—had merely been a shield. You couldn’t read him. Not in the haze of all the other things his pupils might have implied. Not even in his glimmering pink waterline.
The crease in your brow dented further before you flung your cards like it had been a last minute defense.
“Straight!” You declared, still eyeing him up and down and casting an ugly look upon him.
Lucifer didn’t waver. You weren’t even sure if he had even bothered to look down at your cards, and if you hadn’t known any better you might have said he was almost hypnotized by you, the way his gaze clung to you even after the supposed end of the road.
“Oh, me? It’s nothing—just …”
With the bow of his wrist, Lucifer revealed his cards to you, and you leaned forward so fast your chair screeched.
“A hand fit for a king, wouldn’t you say?”
“agh!”
Two red diamonds threatened to puncture thumb with the angle he held his cards at. The center cards were all red diamonds too, with an ace, joker and a ten. Lucifer’s cards were a king and queen.
A royal flush.
“Lucifer, I know you’re cheating,” you accused him, and his eyes blew wide immediately. “It’s impossible that you’ve won five times in a row!”
“My heart, I warned you fair and square! I’m telling you I’m not pulling your leg when I say I never lose a game of poker!”
“When was the first time you played before this?”
Lucifer coughed, fist to his lips as he tried to stifle it. His eyes zipped between you and the floor countless times before he’d finally spoke up again.
“I uh—when I was teaching—ahem—Charlie how to play.”
“That’s your first time?” You crossed your arms.
“Yes! I saw how the humans had done it once, and I never bothered to play until Charlie had asked me to teach her.”
“Huh …”
“She got frustrated too. I don’t know why I don’t lose.”
Your frown had no longer been one of vexation but one of puzzlement. You were at the cusp of a theory, the light of knowledge ever so close before a hand slithered down your shoulder.
“But hey, you know … I think it’s funny I got both a king and a queen. I haven’t had the other in so, very long …”
Lucifer’s hot breath caressed your cheek before a pillowed kiss was planted.
You looked to him, and those eyes returned again.
But this time, of course, his brows melted, bringing his gaze to a softer edge as he smiled the way the sun would at the horizon, presenting you the colors it held dearest in its burning core.
“Someday, when you’re ready, you wouldn’t just be my queen; if Charlie’s my little Morningstar, you’ll be the star I kneel to amongst all the other ones in the vast night, wishing for just a moment more with you. For even when you give me all your waking days, I find it is not enough.
“It is not enough for how much I burn to always be with you.”
bonus : Lucifer never loses because gambling is the devil’s game 🤭
After hearing the cries from afar, Lucifer flew in at the streak of light, A horrific Boom sounding as he landed hard on the rooftop of the hotel!!
Immediately he spotted Dove, injured, it seemed, in the left shoulder, he immediately dropped down to her and surrounded her with a protective wing before looking up and noticing the glowing chain!
"HOW DARE YOU!!!," He exclaimed towards the one holding the chain, his eyes blazing red, and horns appearing with the bright flames of anger.... He pulled his hand back, and swiftly drew his bright, lightning-like sword that matched the infuriated brightness of his glowing red eyes as well as the flames that emitted from between his horns... "Let Dove Go, VOX!!, Or I'll MAKE YOU let go!!!," He exclaimed!
"Hahahaha haaaaaa," Vox laughed maniacally as he began to tighten his grip on the glowing chain.. "Lieb, ATTACK HIM !!"
With a furious magenta flash, appeared Lieb, one of Vox's favourites.... The fight wasn't going to be an easy one, but Lieb was ready to give her life for Vox! "I'M ON IT !!" They yelled!!
Lucifer crouched down, immediately taking a fighting stance... He was ready to take them on, but were they ready for the BLIND FURY they had just released??......
