so... in conclusion, delicatessen isn't a french word? or at least the plural isn't correct.

I don’t think it’s a french word, we don’t pronounce the “N” at the end of the words.It can be from a German language but it sounds like “délicatesse” in french!

Not sure, but lookin into it, the etymology of the word is that it’s apparently a “German loanword”.
