wbw question incoming! how does your clan handle those who have become shade-touched?

They don’t like it lol. They don’t allow any shade-touched on the territory. The opinion varies from each individual but the overall census about the shade is just “mmm no thanks”.

Maaaainly because I personally don’t care much for the Shade.

out of all of the pairs in your lair, which pairing is your favorite?

Lore-wise? Oh, that’s hard. I’d say... Yuyi and Theron maybe? Shhh I haven’t gotten around to writing that yet |D They’re cute boyfriends with a lot of potential angst. What could be better?

Outside of lore? Sargas and Ksora. They make pretty kids and I get $$$

5. Does your clan have a strategist? What about a general or just someone who leads the charge?

If a military strategist was necessary, it would probably fall to T’Bren - she mostly concentrates on studying fighting styles, but knows more about tactics than anyone else in the clan. More likely, Soval would strategize - but it’d be diplomatic strategy instead, trying to avoid a fight if at all possible. 

10. Have any of your dragons suffered a grave, but non-lethal injury due to a battle? How does it affect them (physically or emotionally)?

Not much battling happens in Shi’Kahr, but on his treks through the mire Ahnvahr has picked up more than a few unfortunate wounds. Physically, he’s not much slowed by them due to the influence of his arcane magic on his healing capabilities, but he’s definitely got a heavy dose of denial about the long-term consequences of instantaneously healing wounds with magic. 

15. How formidable would you say your clan is? How formidable would others say it is?

In battle, Shi’Kahr is not formidable at all - by their own estimation or anyone else’s. 

20. How well known does your clan want to be? Will they ever reach that?

Shi’Kahr plays a sort of balancing act when it comes to notoriety - they wish to be well known enough that they can help those who need it, but not so famous that they can no longer provide a place of sanctuary. 

25. How “chummy” is your clan with its allies? Do they like to keep them at arm’s length or are they considered “part of the family”, so to speak?

It depends on the ally! Shi’Kahr is isolated from most clans, so simple logistics sometimes keep allies at arm’s length. Allies will generally become closer if a dragon other than Soval takes an interest in them, since the ambassador tends to keep things formal. 

30. How often does your clan meet up with your (potential) allies? Does your clan only send diplomats? Does your clan’s leader show up in person? Are meetings entire clan affairs where everyone shows up?

Generally, Soval alone will visit allies (or invite them to Shi’Kahr). Timing depends on the ally in question - if things are tense he’ll make more of an effort to visit often, but generally he’ll follow the cues of the other clan and their needs. 

35. How are disputes with other clans dealt with?

Peacefully, if at all possible. Soval is a skilled diplomat who is very good at finding compromises, and it’s rare that he can’t find a solution that works for everyone.

45. Do the members of your clan more or less get along with each other? What would cause them to quarrel if so? Why do they if not?

“More or less” is definitely the right phrase - the more industrious members of the clan tend to be a bit resentful of those who do less work, or work that doesn’t as clearly benefit the clan as a whole. 

50. Who’s the dragon the rest of their lairmates can depend on the most? Why is that?

Kuvak and Teknat are both very caring, and can be counted on to help in almost any situation. Kuvak tends to see helping others in the clan as beneficial to everyone - if he can make one person happy they might pass it on. Teknat’s just a sweetheart. 

55. Which dragon is the most physically fit? Which is the least?

Most physically fit would probably be T’Bren, since she trains hard every day to increase her strength and stamina. Nobody in the clan is clearly at the bottom of the pack, either because they work hard or because they’re vain, but Aloran and Valeris do more than their fair share of laying about.

65. Which dragon is secretly very sweet once you get to know them?

Tekav would probably surprise people with how sweet he can be once you get past the snickering and the pranks. 

70. Is there a pair or group of dragons that make their lairmates go “oh shit” when they’re seen together?

Tekav is pretty terrible on his own, but put him with Darius and anyone who’s lived in Shi’Kahr for any length of time is quick to find somewhere else to be. 

75. How does your clan react towards others? Are they war-like? Peaceful? Isolationists?

Somewhere between peaceful and isolationist - their desire to avoid conflict often goes far enough that they’d rather be left alone than risk making enemies.

85. Do all of your dragons have to contribute to the clan to stay? Are there layabouts?

While they’ll definitely be better-liked if they contribute to the clan, it’s not required - acting as a sanctuary means that there’s usually at least a few dragons who are recovering from conflict, and nobody would make them do more than they’re ready to. Unsurprisingly, some do take advantage of this.

90. How strict do your dragons stick to the breed stereotypes? Flight stereotypes?

Not many stick to breed stereotypes, but Flight stereotypes do show up occasionally. As a Lightning dragon, Darius’ approach to gardening is more industrious than nurturing - building aqueducts and specialized planters, that sort of thing. Olyrn is a Water dragon and has visions of the future, and Sivath as a Plague dragon firmly believes in doing whatever it takes to flourish.
