oh man you've read the demon's lexicon books!! i love that series so much and can never convince anyone to read it. alan is a mess of a human being and i absolutely love him to bits. sarah rees brennan writes such good complicated sibling relationships and they give me life
yeah! I have dropped the ball on keeping up with SRB’s other books, given how much I loved her writing back in mumble mumble fandom days, but tell the wind and fire looks very relevant to my interests.

Summary: Zagreus hardly sleeps anymore, but when he does, he finds his body does remember: all the ways Meg has killed him, the whip wrapped around his ankle, her heel against his throat. Thanatos’s hands cradling the back of his head, dragging him gently down.
It’s almost lonely in the house. They don’t touch him then.
Comments: I don’t really know what to say other than read this. I want to say the relationship is messed up, but it also makes so much sense based on who little meaning death has to them all. None of the things in this story are romantic, and yet they are because the feelings are hovering just under the surface. This is very well done.

Tutor,
Will the parting ever grow easier, I wonder? Every time I leave you, I dream that I turn around. That I throw myself from my horse with a grace that I possess only in daydreams, never in life. I run back, and when I reach you, your arms are already open to me.

Main ships & characters: Daud/the Outsider
Warnings: gore, ambiguous ending
Rec'd because: They're excellently divorced and the Outsider shows his trademark sense of condescension and cryptic talk. Also, Daud being dramatic and bitter and sad about everything, though to be fair he just got killed. (Or did he?)
