In a different world, Lucrezia De Riva would be part of Antiva's line of royal succession. Unfortunately, her and her twin brother, Niccolò, were bastard children of the Princess Ippolita, daughter of King Fulgeno II. Her mother wanted nothing to do with the twins, so the minute they were old enough, Ippolita deposited them at the doorstep of the Antivan Crows. To be more specific, they were dropped in the lap of their uncle, Viago De Riva.
With no other future ahead of them, the twins began Crow training. As one would expect, it was a harsh and unforgiving upbringing. Lucrezia in particular survived by wielding her charm as a weapon, as deadly as any blade could be. This would continue through her time as a fledgling into being a full Crow. They became her favorite contracts, the ones where she could be the knife at the throat of those who fell to her honeyed words.
When the Antaam invaded Treviso, Lucrezia became even more impatient and impulsive. She disliked seeing her home under their iron grip, so when she saw the opportunity to free a group of captives from an Antaam patrol, she struck, dragging Niccolò along with her. Though they saved lives, the twins had unknowingly compromised a much larger Crow operation. The Crow superiors, their uncle included, were furious. As punishment, Lucrezia and her brother were sent out of Antiva. Luck would have it, however, that Lucrezia would have another chance to prove herself when Varric Tethras came by with a new contract...
