happy intentionally late birthday to Lucy B
April 15, 1991–April 15, 2026; age 35. usually i don’t celebrate silly birthdays of my cartoon characters this late but with how things are right now i feel like this was the best time to do this
LORE: to celebrate her birthday (April 15), Lucy and her best friend Muffin (who is deaf) went out together to look at her deceased mother’s grave, who died of childbirth complications just a couple days after she was born. Lucy was born to Annie B. Davies (where she got the “B” from for her stage name “Lucy B.”), who was the loving, supportive, but oftentimes pessimistic wife of Edgar, Lucy’s father, and the two have been dating since at least 1979. she never got to see her (as her eyes were closed when she was a newborn), but she could actually tell the two loved each other with all their might, even after she came into the world. despite all of this, Annie never got to see the light fully, and after she almost suffered a hemorrhage in the hospital (note that Edgar was also still with her and wanted to be with her in her darkest hour), she died of childbirth complications. this of course made Edgar feel awful. Edgar had a very hard time dealing with his wife’s death but was very caring for Lucy in her life, taught her right from wrong, treated her with respect, and taught her many great things that would later make Lucy become the person she is today. Edgar was also prone to getting angry in his early years, and ever since her wife’s death and him having a daughter, he became more protective and instinctive towards Lucy during her first primary school years. he has always tried to control it, especially after years of taking anger management classes and being a better father.
