Your luck is unGodly. In a last-minute change of plans, you got Alex Karev’s seat on the plane. Despite the worries that your girlfriend, Lucy, held about the trip you still went. One moment it was all laughs and smiles about some story that Mark Sloan was telling about an old patient. It was nice, relaxing on the plane with your friends and goofing around.
You must have fallen asleep at one point, cause when you opened your eyes you were outside, on the ground. Large trees stretch up to the sky, it was like a seen in a movie, the sun perfectly in the middle of them all. There’s this sharp ringing in your ears that has your head almost spinning. You sit up, eyes darting around in a panic at the half of the plane in front of you.
Movement to your right caught your attention, making you turn to see Cristina, searching around in a panic. You frown, narrowing your eyes at the black-haired woman. Your head tilts to the side ever so slightly, eyes moving from her to Meredith, then to Mark as he gets up. You raise your hand to your head, feeling a sting from a large cut that you trace to be across half of your forehead. Once more you observe the setting around you and look at Arizona, who seems to be screaming on the ground, holding her leg. The only problem is, you can’t seem to hear her.
Cristina is definitely talking to Meredith, but nothing’s seeming to get past the ringing. You raise your hand, seeing it shake as you do. You snap your fingers beside your head. Nothing at all. Meredith looks at you at the sound of the snap and she can tell that something’s wrong by the look on your face. She makes her way over to you, slowly moving her lips as she talks to you. You can’t make anything out so you shake your head, grabbing her hand in panic. You’re not sure if you were even saying anything to her but she looked at you in fear.
Your eyes were glued to her lips as she gently takes your hands in hers. Gently, she pulls you to your feet and places you with Arizona, who was getting her leg splinted. She states something before letting go of your hand and walking away. You start to panic a bit, watching Meredith disappear.
Hours pass by and your hear doesn’t get better, hours turn into days of trying to stay alive. From what you could guess Lexie was dead, Mark was on death’s door, everyone was taking a turn for the worst. When help finally came you couldn’t believe it, you were barley awake for it. You remember waking up once in some other hospital, doctors poking at you, talking about things that you couldn’t quite make out at all.
When you fully came to, you were in a hospital bed. This time you were certain of where you were. You were at Seattle Grace, you knew it from just looking at the room. You turn your head to the side, beyond relieved to see your girlfriend, Lucy, asleep in the chair, holding your hand. You smile, running your thumb over her knuckles, watching her stir before slowly waking up.
Pure joy takes over her features before she hugs you close. You can feel her jaw moving but you can’t hear what she’s saying to you, making you start to tear up. When she pulls back, she’s instantly looking at your eyes, the tears in them kill her. She doesn’t go to say anything, instead, leaning over and grabbing a sticky note from the table and a pen.
She quickly writes something out and holds it up so you can see it. “I love you.” It reads and you burst out crying, tears running down your cheeks. You mouth it back.
