hi! are you planning on writing more for your shadowgast fic by any chance? it is just lovely and i am aching to see the scene excerpted in the description & how these two traumatized wizards manage to get there. no worries if not, but i’d be remiss not to ask!!! you write them wonderfully (and i am very picky about my shadowgast, lol) — i know i’d take whatever offerings you’d be willing to share/publish, incomplete as they may be!

on a similar note, any recommendations for shadowgast fics? based on how well you write them, i trust your taste :)

(also, was so pleasantly surprised by the space struck epithet — paige lewis was a mentor of mine for poetry and became a close family friend, so it was crazy to see them in a shadowgast fic!!! so good)

hello! thank you so much for the love on You'll Be You, i've been meaning to get back to it forever! i definitely intend to finish it and have most of the remaining 6 chapters started (the next chapter is almost over the line), but it's just something i chip away at when i have a bit of time and am in the mood, so i can't make any concrete promises about when it might appear. that said, this is lovely encouragement and makes me want to work on it soooooo ... watch this space, i guess?!

Would you be open to someone else finishing Droplets? Like with your permission/proofreading etc. Please don’t take this the wrong way I fully respect your decision to be on hiatus I’m just wondering if there’s any chance that the story could be finished

unfortunately no, i am not comfortable with anyone adapting or continuing any of my work, but especially droplets (i've had two instances in the past of people writing 'endings' to the fic without permission, which were summarily removed from ao3 after i had to get mods involved, so i've been burned enough lmfao)

the story has a clear ending in my mind so i wouldn't want to deviate from that in any way. however, i am unlikely to ever finish the fic in its current form (as i've previously mentioned, the only way we will see an ending will be if i convert the fic to an original novel) so sadly it's probably best just to make peace with the hiatus being indefinite now.

i truly am sorry for those of you who are still holding out hope for an end to this fic any time soon, but given my distaste and disinterest for snk now, in addition to being at a starkly different point in my life, it's just not something i want to do.

Oh no, so no sequel to the superhero story of malec?

realistically, probably not! i have the whole thing plotted, but it's a lot of work to write something that long and i'm not sure i want to dedicate that much of my free time to a project like that anymore ... writing for my d&d campaign already takes up most of my evenings and that's really what i want to focus on for now (the last year of no-fic-only-dnd has been surprisingly invigorating from a creative standpoint for me and is helping me improve my writing in a very different way, so that's an avenue i want to continue exploring) (this being said, i am currently back to writing some fanfic for another fandom, which will hopefully be done soon ... ish).

i might share the outline for the sequel though! i am very pleased with it and if perhaps we'd had another few seasons of shadowhunters, i probably would've stayed focused enough to get it written :-)

I don’t know if you use Tumblr anymore. But I read your fanfic Droplets and I just want to say that you created a fucking masterpiece that has changed my perspective on people how humans can be humans and there isn’t a lot you can do to change a person, except to love them with their flaws. Idk if you will ever finish it but thank you so much for creating something that I will never forget.

thank you so much! it still bewilders me how people hold droplets in such high regard - especially as i consider it mediocre at best looking back on it - but i also appreciate how emotionally vulnerable it was as a story, and it means a lot to know how people connect with it. my aim with it was always to tell an honest story about friendship and navigating the threshold of adulthood and not fixing people with love but helping them heal themselves with it.
