Summary: When Steve left Danny on that beach, he left behind a friend who was at the end of his rope. Once Steve realizes what a massive mistake he made leaving like he did, he has to deal with an ex-partner who is hurt beyond belief on top of his own rack of issues. As for Danny, he's no longer sure he was the will, or even the desire, to fix what Steve broke. Can they ever get back to what they were? Can they make their way to something better? Steve thinks they can, now he just needs to convince his Danno.

I’m with you on this! It’s also very unlikely he’d pay more than a nominal amount of child support, depending on Hawaii’s laws. Danny seems the type who’d pay anyway because he wants to support grace, but he probably wouldn’t have to pay. It’s even likely that Rachel would have to pay him since their pay disparity is so large. I love it when other people get annoyed like me!

I know its a little thing but it drives me crazy that such a common shortcut in fics to explain Danny’s shitty apartments in early seasons is that he has no money because of alimony. NO NO NO NO. Hawaii is very expensive, he wouldn’t earn much, he’s going to have spent a BOATLOAD getting there and shipping his stuff etc, we have no idea how much he came out of the divorce with - Rachel even got HIS dog so it seems that she came out of it much better off than him. He’s only six months into living there. First and last month deposits plus a security deposit can be a LOT of money.

There;s a number of real reasons Danny would struggle to find a place - both fiscally and also a part of him kinda wants to keep believing its temporary so if he doesn’t put down real roots, then it isn’t real. The alimony one needs to die a death

Fuck yes! And Edrisa. I hate the way they’ve aired the last half of this season.

The way American TV shows air has always driven me crazy. Random long hiatus, then back for like a week, then off air again for a month, then maybe back for acouple eps. I get they wanna do ‘mid-season’ shows, but instead, how about you just air the show, then after it’s season is done, air another show, instead of stopping a show for like 3-4 months and then being surprised when audience numbers drop off because people have freaking forgotten when the show comes back, forgotten what’s happening, or lost interest because its been off air for months,.
