🍖 : Wha-- that's not a fair trade! My hat can make you ten thousands times more handsome !

🚬 : No way. Absolutely nothing can make someone like him even a slightly bit attractive.

Zoro: do you even care about something beside food and being the pirate King?

Luffy: yeah, you and my crew.

Zoro: I'm your crew, too.

Luffy: you are but you're also the one I could never live without.

ok but like. Im thinking about some zolu sort-of-angst. 

zoro pines and pines after luffy. other people tell zoro that luffy seems super attached to him too, maybe his feelings aren't as unrequited as he believes, but zoro knows it just doesn't click the same for luffy. he eventually very discreetly asks luffy about it, about the love he has for his friends and for people in general, and luffy tells him that he really never thinks about that stuff. luffy doesn't care about romance, never has and never will. 

so zoro doesnt tell luffy about his feelings. zoro just makes his peace with it and he keeps on loving luffy the same as he always has. it hurts a little to know they aren't on the same page, but luffy loves so deeply even if it isnt romantic. no matter what, romantic feelings or not, zoro and luffy are unquestionably loyal to each other. 

all zoro really cares about is having luffy in his life, and if sometimes he stares at his lips for a second too long then who cares. he just wants luffy to stay by his side, and he knows luffy wants that too

zoros feelings won’t ever be requited in the same way, but he gets luffys all consuming love through their friendship and that is enough. luffys happiness brings him happiness, so zoro stays content even while staring down what may break a weaker man’s heart
