🦂The Apple Trend, but with BlitzNut
old art
it might not be exactly a headcanon, but there's one thing about the canonical relationship between these two that really gets me. it's about Blitzwing's endless patience with Lugnut. if you think about it, Blitzwing has no objective reason to constantly follow him (at least until they find Megatron). they don't seem to be linked by military hierarchy. they're most likely of the same rank. but even if they aren't, Blitzwing couldn't care less: he attacks Lugnut with fists, non-regulation jokes (cha-cha-cha), complaints, and occasionally even teases him. so it's not a matter of subordination. Blitz doesn't even come close to sharing Lugnut's blind faith — he's already mentally buried Megatron. Blitz is irritated by friendly fire (aimed at him). when Blitz tried to chat with him (I especially love the fact that he did), Lugnut cut him off rather rudely. all of this, in theory, should be off-putting. besides, Megatron, in Blitzwing's opinion, is offline — so why should they stick together? and yet, despite all this, Blitzwing IS there. oh, and yes — Blitzwing's very first appearance in the series involves him protecting Lugnut from Blackarachnia's sharp vocoder. for some reason, Lugnut truly means a lot to him — with all his quirks, his "glitches," his swearing, and his slaps. this does not need to be assumed or headcanoned. it's shown right there in the show — in little snippets, in tiny details, but it's there. and I damn love it!
💜Yes! Yes! The moment where Blitzwing protects Lugnut from Blackarachnia is one of the most beloved moments from the TFA
💚And they tolerate each other in every sense. It is unlikely that anyone else would have sustained their character (one has an obsession with Megatron, the other has dissociative identity disorder). You have to have strong nerves to be around them
💜Have you ordered Blitznut cats?👀
💜Happy Valentine's Day💚💜
