Lukas Foss / Jan Williams - Elytres / Paradigm / Ni Bruit Ni Vitesse / Dream Lesson LP. This album was released in 1972 and remained sealed until about 10 minutes ago. I picked this up on a whim 3 or 4 years ago for no more than $5 while ordering another, less obscure bit of avant garde type contemporary classical from an online seller. Since I had no idea how dense or obtuse it was going to be, I never played it while my wife and I were listening to records. But she had to go into the office today and I'm putting away records now and I hate filing sealed records if I have never even heard it (sometimes I'll buy a reissue of something I know and file it sealed until I am ready to listen to it) Am only on the first side, and haven't read the liner notes yet (which, yanno, is a big part of listening to classical vinyl) but it sounds to me like Foss may have casually listened to a bit of early Zappa (that's a joke, just to be clear).
