For years you’d been living a lie. Standing on Valentine’s side, killing every downworlder or demon that came in your way. You once believed that Valentine’s way was the right way and after all these years nothing else was left... except the lie.
Your feelings for Luke were hidden deep inside of you, had been even when he had still been a Shadowhunter, like you, and Valentine’s Parabatai. Once he became a werewolf, you’d tried... you had tried to hate him, tried to kill him but you never could even get close to doing it.
You were living a lie in more than one way, but you weren’t strong enough to stop. All you could do was keep going down this dark road with Valentine and dying every day a little bit more...
requested by anon hope you like it

‘What were you thinking?’ your father asked, finally breaking the silence between the two of you that filled the cab of the truck.
‘Would you rather I was out getting drunk and breaking the law, Dad?’ you countered, irritation flaring. ‘Mundane laws, obviously.’
Your father sighed, gently pulling the car to a stop at a red light and turning to look at you. ‘I just worry about you,’ he admitted heavily.
‘Why?’ you asked softly. ‘I’ve had the training. My dad is the head of an amazing pack and a detective.’
‘That’s what I worry about.’ His voice was soft, and you could see the concern shining behind his eyes. ‘You know I’m never going to stop worrying about you, don’t you.’
It was your turn to sigh. ‘I know,’ you agreed. ‘You know I’m always going to worry about you as well, right?’
He shot you a small smile before finally pulling away. ‘Sweet. Still grounded though.’
‘Dad!’ you whined, but you knew that there was little point in it. He wasn’t going to change his mind, and you were begrudgingly OK with that.
